Seattle only gets hot for a few days out of the year, so we kind of just suffer through it, and honestly most people enjoy it because it is so rare.

We have a big fan from Costco that we use if the house heats up...

It's very hot here almost all year long :hot: We get very mild winters so it's not uncommon for us to be in shorts and have the AC going on Christmas day XD We have central air, 3 extra air conditioners (in case the CA dies) and then we have 4 ceiling fans and two portable fans. And I have a small electric hand fan I keep in my purse XD I detest the heat!

Ahhhh I'm the weirdo who loves it hot!  I am usually cold...

Once it gets to about 100* F and I'm naked, yeahhhh then I think about cooling options.  Before then, I just take off clothes.  :)

We don't have AC in our house... we have windows and fans.

AC, AC all the way! I think it would be hard to live in Florida without AC.

I am up in WA state and my last move was from TX so I don't think it every gets really hot for me up here currently. :P I run some floor fans now and then to get the air flowing mostly for the cats, husband and baby as they think its hot. Houses were I am generally don't have AC which I thought was crazy being from the South but yep you mostly just don't need it out here.

Until early this year we just had an uneconomical wall aircon in our lounge and ceiling fans in the bedrooms. We now have split systems in all 3 bedrooms. I sooo don't do heat!! Over a week of plus 45 c temps, with nights not getting below 30... Ewwww!!!! Bonus is they are heaters too :)

When I lived in Fairbanks, Alaska - all I had was ONE window that opened and a fan. It suced on the 3 or so days every summer it was up in the 90's.

In NY - I have a cealing fan and one of those industrial fans. Ya know, the big noisy ones. But the living room and   kitchen have AC. However my mother is ALWAYS cold so its almost never on. Even on a trip to aruba she was freezing and turned the heat on.  >_<

Not hot enough in the lower half of good old NZ to worry about air cond.  When we have a stinker outside it usually stays cool enough indoors to be comfortable.  There is the odd night where it's a bit muggy but these are few and far between :)

It never gets hot here. Where I used to live in the tropics we used ceiling and floor fans.

We just have ceiling and floor fans. They are effective, especially when all the windows are open for extra breeze. I accidentally got a ceiling fan which is a bit too big for my room, so when it's off I can't live from heat, but if I put it on high speed for tool long I'll be freezing

Well Scotland isn't known for getting very hot so I'm normally okay, but during the week or so of the actual summer weather the upstairs rooms get far too hot for me. So during that time I just move downstairs to the living room where the stone walls keep it lovely and cool, like a cave! At night my room is more bearable, so I just sleep with my windows open and all my limbs sticking out the covers. We don't have any air conditioning or fans.

(Really, winter is a lot more difficult. We don't have central heating or double glazing either, and my room is furthest from the living room where the stove is so it gets the coldest of all. Brrr.)

I picked window air conditioner, but that's not 100% true.  There wasn't an option for what I have.  They remodeled these apartment complexes and put air conditioners in the walls next to the patio doors in the living rooms.  It's not actually central air, and it's not in the window, but it does a good job cooling off the whole apartment.  Here in MI, though, I only had to use it about 5 times this summer.  We never really had summer here.

All you mad people with your bewildering Fahrenheit temperatures! 100º Celsius is literally the boiling point of water, so when I hear people casually tossing around numbers above 70º, it always scares me a little bit :P

I can't deal with heat at all. Nope. I've been through one summer so far in the house I'm living in at the moment and it was nearly hell! I don't have any sort of wheeled transport, so it's a 20-minute walk from town to home, and the last 5 minutes is always inevitably spent struggling up the insanely steep hill that we live on. Absolute nightmare. I'm fit enough, but I sweat, my face turns red as a beet, and I lose all will to move for a good half-hour afterwards.

I have a version of this fan which has gold silhouettes of ponies on it instead of cupcakes, though, and I use it all the time to stay cool!
