Customs / G1 > G3 "Chief and Ringlets" for Ringlets!
« on: November 10, 2012, 10:49:05 PM »
Now that Ringlets has posted her brag, I can post pictures of these beauties!  :P

I was Ringlets' swap partner for the Little Army Swap. I read in her wish list that she wanted a G3 custom set for her army, so I got right to work on it.

Here's the cute couple posing for the camera. It took a long time to find the right baits for this pose, but I was so happy when I did.

We'll start with Ringlets first...

Ringlets was made from an Autumn Crisp bait. Her eyes and symbol have been repainted with Folkart acrylics and sealed with Triple Thick Diamond Clear Coat and Mod Podge.

She has been rehaired with Dollyhair in Napalm, Pussycat, Sour Grapes and Water Nixie.

And here's the comparison of her and the original Ringlets.

Now on to Chief...

Chief was made from a Lulabelle II bait. He had his eyes and symbol painted with Folkart acrylics and sealed with Triple Thick Diamond Clear Coat and Mod Podge.

Last but not least, both couples together.  Thanks for looking!

Okay, this isn't pony related but I need some help from anyone who's bought on Etsy before. I bought a pair of Fluffies "furry leg warmers". I paid for them back on October 19th. The seller had 100% positive feedback and the items had very good reviews, so I ordered a pair for my upcoming birthday party. I received a tracking number the next day and waited. It's been almost 10 days and still nothing. I checked the tracking number and all it says is this:

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on October 20, 2012 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

I went back to her shop and it's been closed due to a personal injury. She has apparently broken her thumb and will need surgery and cannot sew. I'm a bit perturbed about not getting my fluffies and no contact from her whatsoever, but I know that it's not 100% her fault she got hurt. The other problem is I paid with my credit card instead of my Paypal, so how do I go about getting my refund? Is there a system on Etsy to do this? Or do I need to go through my bank to have a charge back done? I paid $35 for these and I need the money back so I can try to find different ones. Please help!  :(

« on: October 15, 2012, 11:25:19 AM »

I got the Moonstone suit (no mask) and the Magic Star one with the mask in box. I'd also love to see pictures of any that other members may have. They're just tooo cute!  :P

Pony Corral / So I guess Peachy wanted to be different...
« on: October 02, 2012, 12:46:36 PM »
I just got back from a local Flea Market and found this oddball.

Here she is with my Blossom for comparison.
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I started thinking maybe she lost her tail so someone gave her one from a Blossom by shoving it through the tail hole. So I start tugging on it to see if it would come out, but it wouldn't budge. And it looks like the washer might still be attached!

So I need a little advice.... Her head is glued on snugly and with the washer possibly still on the tail, this can't just be a tail swap. Should I take her head off and check the inside? Maybe see if the tail is legit or if it was just shoved in and wedged in so it won't move? In a way, I hope she's a legit oddball because I love ponies like these. :) Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

Customs / Need help: Does anyone make pony clothes?
« on: September 27, 2012, 03:45:51 PM »
(Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, Mods. Please feel free to move if needed.)

Does anyone take commissions for pony clothes? I have a custom I'm working on for a coworker and I tried making a pair of shorts to fit a G1 brother and they came out all wrong.  :yikes: If anyone takes clothing commissions, can you please PM me? Or if anyone can recommend someone for me, that would we awesome too. Thanks so much!  :)

Pony Brag Arena / Vacation Finds!
« on: September 19, 2012, 01:23:19 AM »
I went down to San Diego for a few days on vacation and decided I would try pony hunting. We were staying in Chula Vista and, lucky for me, there was a Salvation Army and a few thrift shops just down the street from our hotel. On our last day there, the bf and I stopped at each one and look what I found....

Sky Flier, SS Buttons, Skydancer, Glory and Baby Bouncy were all together in a bag at Salvation Army for $3.00! Lightheart and AJ were at another thrift shop for $0.25 each.

And look! I found not one.... But THREE Senior Fakiepants! Paid $1.00 for all three.

The last weekend of vacation, my bf and I went to Hyper-Con in San Mateo, CA. There was a lot of Anime there and I even met some really cool Bronies there. :) One of the artists had prints for sale of her FiM Fanart and I just had to snag some up.

The artist's name is slifertheskydragon, for those who may want to look her up on DeviantArt. She was very cool and I got both posters (measuring 11"x17") for $15.

Best vacation EVER!  :frolic:

« on: September 01, 2012, 11:58:57 PM »
Hey SoCal ponies! I will be in the San Diego/Chula Vista area from Tuesday September 4th to Friday September 7th and would love to know if there are any places to go pony hunting (swap meets, second hand shops, etc.). Any leads would be awesome and cake for those who help!  :tort: Thanks so much!

Customs / Need to see......
« on: August 28, 2012, 08:01:16 PM »
....customs with closed eyes! I'm working on a pair of customs as a present for my boyfriend for our anniversary next week and one of them will have the eyes closed. I just can't seem to get the eyelashes right. I might also mention this custom is being made out of a DG baby, so the inset eyes are kinda throwing me off. Please show me any customs with closed eyes so I can get a general idea of what I should do. Thanks so much everyone!!!  :)

Off Topic / Help me ID these critters?
« on: August 09, 2012, 12:47:46 PM »
I've seen similar things like this on here before and I'm hoping someone can tell me what they are and maybe give me a price check? I found these all stuffed in a bag together at a flea market. They were too cute to pass up. Some of them have a sticker under their feet that says, "(c) 1985 Epoch China". They're also fuzzy.

Here's everything I got.

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

The Hedgehog family. They seem to be in fairly good condition.

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

The Mouse family. All but the little one in the overalls have had their tails pulled off. And it looks like Dad and one of the children are missing their outfits.

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

The adorable horse! I will be keeping this one, but any information about it would be very helpful. :)

And the furniture.

Any information is greatly appreciated and if anyone is interested in buying them, feel free to send me a PM with an offer. :) Thanks for looking!

Trader & Shipping Support / Bidding overseas? eBay noob question
« on: July 30, 2012, 03:22:32 PM »
Please excuse my noobness.  lol

I'm fairly new to using Paypal and using it on eBay. There is a pony I want to bid on from the UK. The price is in GBP but shows the conversion in US dollars. If I do bid on this pony and win, how do I go about paying for it? Do I just figure out the cost in dollars and send that or do I have to convert it into pounds? I'm confused and a little scared because I really want this pony but also want to have a smooth transaction too. Any help is much appreciated and thanks for reading!

Customs / Four Seasons custom for KittyKat7
« on: July 20, 2012, 01:25:25 AM »
KittyKat7 was my partner in the Four Season Swap and I decided to make a custom to add into her box. She doesn't have a name, so I told KittyKat she had the honor of naming her.

Before rehairing:

All finished:

Because I was on a tight deadline, I didn't repaint her eyes. I was extremely pleased with how well the detail painting turned out though. She is rehaired in Brilliant Twilight, painted in acrylics and sealed with Mod Podge.

I'm starting to get more comfortable with making customs, so maybe I'll be open for commissions soon....  :good: Thanks for stopping by and looking!

These three girls were trades for ponies I was selling. They're soo pretty!

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

FSF Nikki and Chloe. These poor girls are in horrendous shape. Someone painted them up with re nail polish and poor Nikki looks like someone poured acetone on her flank and side. They do have almost all of there accessories. Missing one or two pieces on Chloe and their brushes. I paid $1 each for them. I may possibly sell them in the near future.

Swiftwind! She's missing a wing, but is in excellent shape. I paid $1 for her. I am looking to buy either a new saddle with both wings, or just the right wing, if anyone finds one.

TE Bright Eyes! She's stunning! Thank you bluerose9978. $9 for her.

Sad looking Tootsie, Medley and Peachy and September Morning Glory. These girls had a run in with red nail polish, so they need lots of work to look pretty again. .50 each is what I paid for them.

Mommy and Baby Moondancer, Applejack, Baby Surprise and SS Wind Whistler! The Moondancers will become my first restoration project.  I paid $1 each for the adults and .50 each for the babies.

Poor Baby Firefly has cuts through the plastic in her front feet.  :( Baby Sweet Stuff has some unknown black stains all over her. Lily is in excellent condition with only some slight frizz to her hair. I paid $1 for all three.

Now my rarer ponies!

August Gladiolus was a surprise. I paid $1 for her. Anchors Away has been a want for awhile. I snatched her up for .50! And Salty with his hat and bandana!! I paid $1 for him. He got some issues, but he still has curl in his hair.

Last but certainly not least.......

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Goldilocks! My bf found her under a pile of Barbies. I was so excited and I only paid $1 for her.

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Finally dug out of storage, my Rainbow Dash plushie I'd won at the local county fair back in the early 2000s. I'm so happy to have her back. And Baby Moondancer wanted to help with size comparison.  :P

All of these accessories came in the School of Dance. The clip on the door and the bow handle is broken off but came with it, so I'm going to fix it. I paid $2 for everything there.

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Last but not least, pony clothes! The bridal outfit includes the ring (not broken!) but not the garter. I don't know what he little white tule this is. I paid about $1.50 for all the outfits.

So, my grand total for the last two months worth of buys is... $40.50! Phew! If you read through this whole post, a big double thumbs up for you!  :thumb: Thanks for looking guys!

Pony Corral / ID my oddities please?

Found these two at the local flea market for .25 each. What are they though? Here are the pictures!

I thought Pinkie Pie was a shampoo bottle at first and almost didn't buy her, but then I realized her head doesn't come off.

Behind her front legs, there is a stamp that says (c) 2007 Hasbro, Cosrich Group Inc., Made in China

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

This little girl almost looks like a pencil topper but she's made of hard plastic and very heavy. My boyfriend thinks maybe she's an antenna ornament? Here's a bottom picture:

No stamp or markings on her at all. If anyone has any idea what these are, I'd greatly appreciate any info. :) Thanks for looking!

Pony Corral / Removing nail polish on symbols/FSF?
« on: June 18, 2012, 11:57:23 AM »
So, I just got back from the flea market with this haul:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

All of them have red nail polish on them. Mostly on their hooves and legs, but a few have polish on their symbols. The Fashion Star Fillies also have polish on their faces and bodies. Is there any way to safely remove the polish without messing up symbols or the body paint on the FSFs? Also, how should I wash pony wear? Everything is pretty dirty. lol Thanks for looking and for any help offered!  :)
