Bidding overseas? eBay noob question

Please excuse my noobness.  lol

I'm fairly new to using Paypal and using it on eBay. There is a pony I want to bid on from the UK. The price is in GBP but shows the conversion in US dollars. If I do bid on this pony and win, how do I go about paying for it? Do I just figure out the cost in dollars and send that or do I have to convert it into pounds? I'm confused and a little scared because I really want this pony but also want to have a smooth transaction too. Any help is much appreciated and thanks for reading!

If you're paying through ebay then you would go through checkout like you normally would Some credit card companies will charge a conversion fee though, so paying with a bank account or checking account would avoid those.

Glacia is exactly right. 

Don't be scared though, we have all been there before.    Ebay makes it so easy nowadays for International transactions that you will not even notice much of a difference, if really any at all.

  we were all ebay noobs once    Dont worry - you shouldnt have any problems paying for your pony if you win. You just go to the checkout as usual like Glacia mentioned  and it should be pretty straight forward
