Off Topic / Does anybody like Sofia The First?
« on: July 29, 2014, 07:05:34 PM »
I watched this out of sheer boredom one day but now I actually really enjoy it, lol. Infact, I find most of Disney Junior's programming lately to be far superior to the regular Disney Channel. They at least show real Disney movies and a lot of their shows are cute.

I've always liked all of the Disney Princess fairytale stuff anyway, but given the age demographic this show is geared towards I wasn't sure I would really enjoy it outside of finding something cute to bring in for the kids I work with to watch but I actually watch this now as much as I do Pony when I'm not watching my other shows, lol.

I don't actually own any G4 Fashion Style Ponies (Other than the 2012 Fair Exclusive Bubble Butt) but for some reason I really like that Rainbow haired Fluttershy I keep seeing everywhere and I noticed it's cheap on Amazon, But I was wondering if the hair is like that really tangly thin hair that frizzes really easily on Equestria Girls dolls, or at least it does on the ones I have.

Does anyone have her, and if so is her hair fairly nice? I'm kind of a Fluttershy nut and I really like her long, rainbowy hair, lol.

Pony Corral / G4 Breezie wing variants?
« on: July 19, 2014, 02:15:00 PM »
I know a couple of people had posted pics of their G4 Breezies before, but can anyone who owns either of the 2 retail Breezies confirm what color the wings actually are in person? The pics I've seen make them out to look translucent Pink with Purple design prints on them, but the ones I just received from ebay today have Blue translucent wings with Pink design prints.

I would like to change my user name to Neon Sparkle if possible.  :)

I am looking for loose & complete Equestria Girls dolls of either the Deluxe Fluttershy with the blue dress or the Target exclusive Pinkie Pie with the black in her hair.

It appears that a blue shoe is missing from my Crystal Place playset and I am extremely annoyed that there would be missing parts in a brand new toy. Does anyone know of any way I could get a replacement shoe? lol.

Ever since I first saw this doll I've wanted her so bad, she's my favorite character in the movie but I could never find any of the official toys or dolls when the movie came out in any of the Disney Stores or Park shops:

I seem to remember these being pricey to begin with on ebay so I held off from what I thought were high prices at the time, but now it seems that all Wreck-It-Ralph stuff has gone up to Frozen levels of craziness price wise. The mass market stuff that was sold in regular stores is even going for insane prices now and the movie only came out like a little over a year ago.

Is there any chance I could still find a talking Taffyta doll for a fairly reasonable price or did I miss the boat? any Taffyta stuff actually I would love to be able to find.

A month or so ago I found a copy of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road for $1 in a Pawn Shop by my work, so I picked it up seeing as I'd wanted that album for awhile and it's not often you find a crown jewel album in the sea of forgettable 90's dreck that place has.

Well today I was at Walmart and I noticed they have some sort of 40th anniversary edition 3 disc version that just came out, and now I really want it but I didn't pick it up. Anyway I just glanced on Amazon at the different editions they have and I noticed that the particular 1990 pressing I have is listed for like $99 and after a quick look I noticed all of the older editions of his albums on CD seem to go for alot. Usually older CDs go for pennies to a couple of bucks used, so now I'm wondering why these are so desirable.

I was considering listing mine on Amazon and getting the new edition for $11 at Walmart, but I would like to find out what is so special about the 1990 edition before I get rid of it.

Where is the best place to get small amounts of certain colors you want, without having to pay a lot and what is the best type to get?

Off Topic / Opening a vinatge factory sealed vinyl record?
« on: February 27, 2014, 06:56:16 PM »
What are your thoughts on opening a vintage vinyl record or anything vintage for that matter? I know once something is mine I can do whatever I want with it, I've just always had an issue with opening things that are older than I am, lol. I guess I figure if it's been sealed for that long, why should I break the seal now?

For the record (no pun intended), The particular album I'm looking at isn't THAT old, It's Stevie Nicks' Bella Donna. I guess it would probably be frowned upon by collectors if it were something really rare or collectible, but I'm guessing this album probably isn't super rare or anything and it would seem to me that I, being the first person to open it would get the benefit of superior sound quality over buying a used copy.

Equestria Girls Dolls?

I admit I wasn't a huge fan of the idea and I'm not planning on really collecting them, but I did pick up the hair styling Rainbow Dash on clearance out of curiosity as I wanted to see what they were like. I honestly wasn't too impressed with the quality of this particular doll, but she is kind neat I guess. I wouldn't have paid more than what I got her for on clearance, they didn't even use the deluxe style body with the extra articulation. In regards to quality and articulation, I would still say Monster High dolls are a far better value for the price.

...However, I really have kinda fallen in love with the Deluxe Fluttershy with that pretty blue metallic dress, and I've kinda been eying the Black Tie Pinkie Pie for awhile, so odds are I will eventually end up with a couple more, lol.

I don't know how the other ones are, but the best part about Rainbow Dash was the fact that it only took me like 3 seconds to slip her out of the box as apposed to the ridiculous amount of time I'm used to spending tryng to get a MH doll out of the box, that was definitely a plus! :)

Off Topic / Does anyone know of any high quality modern record players?
« on: February 23, 2014, 09:09:12 AM »
I don't know how many big audiophiles there are here, but I'm looking for a fairly high end record player but not something extremely pricy. I have one of those Crosley all-in-one things you can get at any local Target but the playback isn't the greatest and the built in speakers are weak. There is also no way for me to hook better speakers up to the player I have.

Does anybody know of any fairly high end ones?

Pony Corral / G4 Minty...
« on: February 09, 2014, 04:41:25 PM »
So, did that first version that showed up briefly not ever get an official release? I haven't followed her in awhile but she was a Pony I've been wanting for a long time so I finally snagged one of the 2nd version on eBay for a decent price, The one with the outlines around the cutie mark. I really liked the first version a lot more though.

Off Topic / Any other Britney Spears fans?
« on: November 22, 2013, 12:45:36 PM »
I've been a huge fan of hers ever since ...Baby One More Time came out in '98 when I was 10 or so. I cannot wait for her new album, Britney Jean.

I used to have a bunch of her dolls and other memorabilia when I was a kid, but I'm not sure what happened to it all.

For anyone who is old enough to remember, Around what year did CD "Take Over" and become the preferred format to purchase music on over Vinyl Records?

I'm well aware that new albums were regularly released on vinyl throughout the late 80's but I was born in '88 and when I was a little kid in the very early 90's and probably even before then based on old home videos we have, my parents only had CDs and Cassette tapes and did not own a turntable at all, so when I first became aware of records as a kid I perceived then as some sort of ancient relic that hadn't been in use for ages, despite having literally just come out of the tail end of the Vinyl era.

So, was it around the late 80's that CD's started to really become popular? I know they had already been around since about the mid 80's but I know most new formats take at least a few years to really take off. I seem to recall my parents already having a fairly large CD collection by the time I was 3 or 4.
