Title: The bane of your pony existence?
Post by: Sebby6 on July 27, 2012, 12:28:58 PM
So I often see people saying how they always find Pony Brides at the flea markets or they are wondering where to put their 77th re-release of Twilight Sparkle.

So what's your "pony issue"?

Mine is.. crayons! Because I collect MLP erasers I buy all the stationary sets and art kits and what have you.
After photographing them for my website I open them and display the erasers, but I can never bring myself to get rid of the rest because it's "pony"

I've managed to shift the pencil cases and quite a few of the pencils, but I'm left with literally hundreds of crayons, coloured pencils, rulers and pencil sharpeners. They're taking over the house!

So tell me yours and make me feel better :)

I haven't acquired a ton of anything yet, but I swear every time I hit the flea market I find about half a dozen Sparkleworks. I've only ever grabbed one and she's got a wicked haircut.  >_<

McAnything, and dollar store fakies.  I see tons of those creepy glass-eyed fakies and I can't stand them!

Right now... my Sparkle Sky Rocket... got her in a lot of baits, she's in great shape and I've been trying to sell her. People have messaged me wanting to buy her, we work out a deal and then a few days later they messagi me and say that they don't need her anymore. I want to get rid of her so bad! I hate the sparkle G1 ponies >_< and she's sitting on my desk taunting me... endlessly taunting me >_<

So Soft ponies...

Not the kind with the flocking, but the G3s that talk  >_<

I go and see some pony hair, eagerly pull the pony out and...

A manky so soft pony.

I'd actually be happy to find them if they didn't look like they've been in a hedge for 8 years.

All I seem to find at my thrift store is manky so softs, manky g3 plushies, and the -not very often- ponyville playsets x_X

I have better luck with my over priced flea market.

Sebby6 - shove the crayons in packs and donate them to the Ponycon as part of one of the stalls for kids? Lucky dip prizes maybe? :P

Bleh, so-soft ponies and playset shells. They're all I run into and they're creepy. I don't like buying the so-soft ponies (G3 onwards, not the G1 ones) because of hygiene and trying to get them cleaned up once they're home. Plastic, I can scrub. manky fabric with bonus electronic bits in it...just no.

(And I would totally love another Sky Rocket. I adore that set. :P )

FILLY PONIES! Seriously.. I hate that crappy things. :<
( so sorry to everyone who collects them ; ^; )

I just find them sooo weird and they have taken over all the pony-isles in german stores (probably b/c it is a german company that MADE those abominations!)
Sometimes stores won't even sell MLP anymore and just stock Fillies. Agh, they make me SO ANGRY. xD

They're called "Pony" and when I search for My Little Pony on any Swedish/Danish toysite I get like 10 results with actual My Little Ponies and 100 of these things >.<

Not to mention they also have pink boxes so everytime I go to a toystore and spot pink boxes with ponies I get all exited only to come up close and see.... THOSE things :< They're everywhere!
Actually one of the major toystores here in Sweden only have these and not the regular My Little Ponies which anoys me even further.

Are there like play-sets and singles etc? o_O We only have the blindbags here in the US, and generally they're not even in the toy section they're up front by the trading cards.

Yep, there are several playsets and there even single-packed ones that are on cards instead of in blind bags. You can see some of the playsets available on the pamphlet that comes in the blind bags. The U.S. also gets the Collector Tin.

Rhini, yes! There's singles, there's a CASTLE, an ice scating ring, fairy fillies with wings.. there's family sets... and lots more I cannot tell you about because I never look too closely since they scare me. XD

There's also a magazine with special exclusives included. The grocery store in my street has them next to the counter, so I see at least one filly almost every single day. x_x

The Leap Frog Electronic thing with the motion sensor that makes it go off whenever I walk into the pony aisle at Target! Every time, it makes me jump out of my skin. I've taken to trying to creep as close to the other side as possible, but in the midst my pony-purchasing deliberation I will inevitable pace or back up into the sensor's range and it will go off with that annoying "bblling!" with sounds of children laughing, mocking me! :lookround:

Before that, it was Pinkie Pie Learns to Walk. Not only am I little disturbed by human-baby ponies, but I generally don't like loud toys that call attention in my general direction, I'm really shy and it embarrasses me when Pinkie Loudington is shouting "LOOK, I CAN WALK!". Whimper!

Hehe, oh those Filly Princess toys... I can't help but feel MLP has conditioned me to see them all as boy ponies!

the new polly pocket toys, I walk down the toy isle in Walmart and see new pink colored packages in hopes that means new ponies! no polly pocket!

And yes talking baby Pinkie gets me every time I pass her I hissed at her once and spouted some unkind words it made the Hasbro guy laugh

Australian toy stores having pathetic online catalogs/stores, not being able to buy directly from Hasbro online, crazy distribution of G4... the list goes on lol! :P

So many people are meh over G3 so softs, whenever I find them in Australia they're in pretty nice condition. And if I find one cheap I can't leave it behind!

The Filly toys are awesome! I wish we had more here. I want the family sets and the castle and the ice skating ones and just so many of them. xD

But back on topic, when I was collecting G4s I was drowning in Pinkie Pies! Three blind bags, two Fashion Styles, an ornament, a single, the Valentine's. . .who knows what else! I don't even like Pinkie Pie.

It's cause the company that makes them (Simba) is a german one. They're famous for knock-offs since... forever. xD
Back when they had their fake 'Sylvanian Families' called 'Bärenwald' ..and well, nowadays their MLP (filly) and MH (forgot the name) rip-offs.

So you could say, germany is like the NEST, the EGG, the WOMB, the MOTHERSHIP of this filly-invasion. And it really truly is one around here.... XD;

I'm not gonna lie, I really like this white plush! I really hope we see some in the US, I have a crazy love for plushes!!

Back to the topic of BANE

There is this one thrift store that I hope to find something wonderful in, since I found a small ponyville playset for my niece, has a growing MOUND of toys that are never sorted just thrown.

I always pull out a fake shining armor/blue denim? looking guy and lose it! He's the closest thing and yet every other week ONLY pony-ish item there! I also found FS G4 Fluttershy's dress there and even with smoke....no fire. :yikes:

My pony bane is people who sell used ponies for ridiculous prices..!

I'm going to the markets tomorrow, and no doubt, I'll run across dozens of g3s. I love g3's and will get all excited, and then will ask the price. They usually run at about $3-4, and I'm happy to pay that for one that is nice, or will clean up nicely, considering that with shipping, I usually have to pay about $5 each from here or the tp, or even evilbay for a nice, run-of-the-mill g3 from overseas. But some of the stinky, grubby, downright vandalised ponies for $4-$7... is criminal! Why not put 50c or $1 on them, and have me buy them by the dozen and go to a good home?! Especially when the right person could bring them up decently with a rehair or as a custom...

I had some ponies arrive yesterday from evilbay... urgh. Horrid little grubby, drawn on things, none of which you could see in the pic, and they were described as no major marks. grr. paid a good price for decent ponies, but these three are far from decent! so annoyed. Not as described... just as bad as inflated pricing!

I like Filly! :frolic: Casually though. I only have three of them, but they are quite cute! I knew they were Euro based, but had no idea they were Simba.

My personal bane is probably those giant Cabbage Patch fakies with the bad, thin hair and the chunky, hippo-like legs. I'm a fakie fan and I do like some of the Cabbage Patch fakies, but something about those giant ones kind of irritates me. I don't really even know why.

One lady at the flea market here has ponies sometimes and I grabbed a bunch and she was asking $2 each for some pretty ratty G3s. That's not HORRIBLE but I decided on Scoot because she looked lovely. Just down the aisle I grabbed a g3 big Fashion Style Rainbow Dash for a dollar in pretty great condition minus some scratches.

Competition can be rough! But when I have options, I get picky!

I love my market guy 'cause I get great G3s at about $.75 a pony. However, I'd been eyeballing the Hero/Villain SDCC pony in one stall, but had to pass on it the first time around. It was marked at $50. Went back, she was still there. Hubbs offered $40 for her and it was agreed upon if we bought some other items. As hubbs is choosing stuff for himself the guy says, "I just sold it on eBay for $55. Sorry." Why did you mark it for $50 at the market and $55 on eBay? Whoever bought her got ripped off and they don't even know it. Hubbs walked away FURIOUS. Left a hold handful of stuff he had grabbed for himself behind. We'll never go into that guy's stall again.

I had the same eBay problem as well. Bought 3 ponies from a seller that were listed as "minty condition". Got them and they were filthy, had paint on them and one of them had the entire middle of her heart hoofmark rubbed off. Paid about $10/pony after shipping and they were G3s!

The bane of my pony existence is when my G4s have factory errors right out of the box. The one and only time I ordered from Hasbrotoyshop, my Fluttershy arrived with one eye about a centimeter lower than the other one. I felt kinda bad for her, though, and I didn't have the heart to send her back XD. I just wish QC was better on these ponies. I know they're not really meant to be super nice collector's items, but I'm still shelling out money for them, and I expect a decent product for my dollar, not something messed up. I just hope my :muffin: Pony isn't flawed when she arrives. Taking a chance with HTS again, and I hope this experience is better!

I missed :muffin: Pony completely... :P Oh well.

Oh right, I know the Filly line now. I really don't care for them, I keep seeing them on TaoBao and mixed in with other playsets.

Factory errors right-out-of-the-box do annoy me and make me wish I hadn't bothered unpacking the pony. I have some wall-eyed blind bags around here somewhere.

Lmao I've been to Germany twice now, but I suppose at the time I wasn't looking for toys so I didn't notice. You totally needs to post pics of the MH fakies!!

Back on topic! Arghghh overpriced ponies at fleas. There is one lady here who is NOTORIOUS. She and her husband have several large bins, they're all FILTHY, covered in blue marker, with matted hair and stains and I mean, just the baitiest of bait. And she's using summer's book to price them. Ummm CONDITION!? That never seems to occur to her! "The book says $8" Yes! For a beautiful minty one!! Not the ghastly thing you have in your hands.  :argh:

My personal bane is probably those giant Cabbage Patch fakies with the bad, thin hair and the chunky, hippo-like legs. I'm a fakie fan and I do like some of the Cabbage Patch fakies, but something about those giant ones kind of irritates me. I don't really even know why.

I have one of those, and I use it to teach braiding! Strawberry (as mine is named) is huge, with an easy division between her mane just like MLP, so when my sister-in-law whined at me until I did her horses for horse shows (as well as my own, boy did I get cranky) I decided enough was enough. "Girl, take this massive hippo-esque pony and learn to braid!" She's a fab educator - SIL still can't braid to save herself on real horses, but Strawberry looks great and at least she gets the concept now....

:lookround:

OMG that thing scares me! BBLLING!!!!! (children laughing). Why do they have to put that right accross from the ponies!?!?!
I HATE THAT!! And the pinkies x_X My one Walmart has a whole end cap of them and they all get set off at once and im like ahhh run.

I hate both of these things!  Why must so many toys talk so loudly?
arg i know what you mean!!!!!!! every time pinkie goes off i say shut up pinkie!!!!!!!!!!! she annoys me so much and lets everyone knoe im looking at ponies when i first started collecting i despised pinkie on the show and the first time she went off i yelled shut up pinkie!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll probably actually say it.. or if I tell hubby, he'd definitely say it!! God I hate those market stalls like that. Not to mention when they've got the pony with the wrong playset, and refuse to separate.. I've got that whole thing I bought brand new at home you horrid person, now give me what I want! =P

I'm going to get all of Summer's books with my tax refund... I've always wanted them, but spent my money on actual ponies.. as hubby is getting a little testy on ponies of late, I'll buy pony books instead. He's gonna flip when my next two shipments arrive, LOL!

Aaaaah that is such a cute story!

I actually do have two of them. One was purple with a yellow and green flower, but I thought it was kind of ugly so I customized it. The other one is pink with more flower symbols and has glass eyes, realistic eyelashes, and horrid hair. I never really cared for it much until I got an Ice Cream Doll and decided to sit her in the saddle.

I still pass them up in thrift stores though. ><

Also, I have to agree about the motion baby Pinkie Pie thing. Yesterday I met an Arena member who lives in my home town in the pony aisle (if you're reading this... hi!) and I commented that the only thing those are good for is telling you where the pony aisle even is. "Hmm, I wish I could find where they are keeping the ponies at this store..." "I can waaaalk!" "Oh. There they are."

This! My mom came home with one for me, and it is just . . . I mean . . . no words . . . ack! It's tiny little pig eyes are just sad and it looks like she's wearing sweat pants. I think I could deal with her much better if it weren't for those legs! She looks like she needs an emergency trip to the vet.

And the leap frog thing terrifies me. When I was in target today with my daughter, it terrified her too. There was something else on the aisle too that made scary noise, but at that point I'd seen they didn't have what I was looking for and just ran, so I don't know what it was.

I can say that noisy toys are grandparents' revenge. At least that's the only logical reason I can come up for them to exist.

One time this lady had a show stable that looked like she'd dug it out of the ground it was so dirty, with Tap Dancer inside. All I wanted was the pony, but she wanted $7 for her if I wouldn't buy the stable too and she was so dirty that I just had to say no  >_<

Bad bane:
 Ebay: "Rare! HTF!" ....

Me (growling at screen and picture of, say, G3 Rainbow Dash... "Not!!"

Worse bane:

Ebay or craiglist "LOOK! Great Deal on a huge lot of My Little Ponies!"
Mer (squinting at screen full of fakies and maybe one MLP McD pony) "Where?"

And worst bane of all... the overpricing on some ponies, particularly the "favored by Bronies" (no offense, Bro's... I love every Brony I've met!) ponies,  that are honestly not rare, are not even a year old, some of them, but are a little harder to find. (Fashion Style AJ anyone? Thank God we have her. Two, in fact! HA! Do we need to put them  in a safe deposit box yet? Should we take out insurance on them? geez.)(and then there's the old gray bubble butt mare thing... let's not go *there* lol) I just feel as though some people are taking advantage and making a living from the resale of ponies that should still be sold for retail price plus a little to cover costs (sales tax, shipping, travel? etc) and a bit for the effort taken in making it available. I guess I just have a "community" mindset and it irks me that non-pony people have decided to cash in on the FiM mania. It seems like greed to me, as opposed to finding a vintage Mimic in a Thrift store (dream on), cleaning her up and then selling her for a fair collector's price to another collector who wants her.

Some pony please kick the soapbox out from under me LOL!

moonstars there will unferntly always be scalers adn people who resale for  high prices becuase there are people out there  who will buy at that price.  if people diidnt pay the high prices maybe they would drop. but i agree.. it ameks it worse for the rest of us when the sclapers and the people who are just in it for the money  get them all. adn then think  that  just becuae they hae someting  its ridiculusly valuble and put a high price on it.

i can see that for soem of the rarer  ponys that are g1  adn the nirvana ones.. but not the g4s there nor  "rare"  there just not sold inc ertian areas.

and yes i think if  you stick  the rare tag on a g4 pinke or a rd thats..  a little irrataing. they put the rare tag otu there so more people will buy.

also persnaly.. i hate the ones who say
make offer,  becuase you can  make what you think is a  good eresnable offer... becuase its  aused item and here they are wanting full retial new price for it..   so most of hte time  you end up insulting them.. becuase  there like  your giving me  a lowball price!  how you valu something soemone else may vaule it diffneretly.

1: Exclusives and International ponies >_< We don't have Target over here, and our Toys R Us are actually franchised by a company called Toys Li-Fung instead of run by the real Toys R Us. This means that we won't be getting Target exclusives and a lot of TRU exclusives never make it over. Also, Hasbro Malaysia only sources from the US Hasbro where MLP is concerned, and to date I've only seen US MLP sets (although Sweet Slumbers and Cheerilee Schoolhouse made it over in large numbers).

2: Hasbro not bringing in certain toys. Hasbro Malaysia has their own marketing and survey team, and apparently they won't bring in some of the MLP toys because they think it wouldn't sell >_< .

I learned something today! I had no idea filly princesses were so popular in Germany. I wouldn't buy any of them, but I might use the playsets for my blind bags since they seem to be the right size.

It's cause the company that makes them (Simba) is a german one. They're famous for knock-offs since... forever. xD

That's one of the greatest things about the MLP community - there's so many collectors who enjoy different things, and just about anything can find a home here - there are literally dozens of accessory collectors.

TBH I suppose technically they aren't the bane of my pony-existence any more now I've just decided not to bother with them, but they were when I was trying to collect and catalogue them and decide what particular shade of pink this comb was and therefore which of the many ponies with this sort of comb it belonged to :P And baby sea pony floats - GAH! I have to agree, that Leap Frog Electronic is so annoying.    I'm waiting for the day when they don't carry them anymore.
My brother refuses to go down the isle with me because of it.

My second pet peeve is people who way over price pony's at second hand sales.  There was  lady selling pony's 2 for $5.00 and it was mostly fakies, Mcdonalds pony's and super damaged pony's.  She obviously knew her pony's because anything in great shape was expensive.

I can't stand accessories either and I hate gimmicks. For example ponies that talk or have movable legs or things you press to make them do stuff. The only gimmicky things I am okay with are special wings and some of the jewel or raised butt marks.  So long as they are not excessively outrageous like those pocket bubble G1s were. I think it makes them ugly if they are too 3D.

I stopped collecting G1s in my teens because so many were all gimmicks.

I don't like fakies. Unless of course they're actually cute. Not much are. -.-

So Soft ponies...

Not the kind with the flocking, but the G3s that talk  >_<

I go and see some pony hair, eagerly pull the pony out and...

A manky so soft pony.

I'd actually be happy to find them if they didn't look like they've been in a hedge for 8 years.

All I seem to find at my thrift store is manky so softs, manky g3 plushies

I find them to be cute... :(

I struck some thrift-gold today so I just have to add that I HATE it when thrift stores put ponies in those bags with stupid crummy toys that nobody wants at all. So you have to buy the whole bag just to get the pony. :argh:

I'm a fakie fan who usually uses good discretion when it's just fakies in those bags, but today I found one with a Lanard and one of those Dollar General fakies. *squeal* I don't have any DGs babies yet... and this one was in my favorite color! (Bonus points if you can guess what that is. :p) So there was just no way I could leave it there... (I got a bit of a mini heart attack though because I thought at first that she was a legitimate baby G1.)

I just ended up taking those extra toys and donating them to another thrift store. I think it's impolite to just give them back to the store they came from when they were obviously just trying to get rid of them. :/ Stupid morals.

I would say Blind Bags, as I feel it to be an unfair gimmick, but with the codes I don't need to worry about finding the right ones...although the fact that they didn't give Fluttershy her own mold still rubs me wrong.
I would say how the Filly Princesses we all hate to love always have bulky crowns stuck to their heads, because I can't have royalty running around my pony town, that wouldn't make any sense...
 I'm gonna say:
  - Ponies who won't stand up. Make that ANY toy that won't stand up.
-Dolly mix ponies, because they are so adorable, so wonderful, and have GEN 1 characters, and I want to collect them! But they have brushable hair that I don't want to deal with. Even then, they would still be worth the trouble but I can't find them because I'm in the US! And then I finally find a couple on eBay, and I'm so happy to get a tiny Glory, and she ends up being one of the ones to use an earth pony head! And I'm so POed that I grab some Sculpy and MAKE a horn and GLUE it on, because I wanted a dag-blasted unicorn!!
Then the tip broke off.  Sigh.

Everything that does not belong in my collection  I have this huge issue with having too much things and if I can't justify keeping them I am almost always getting rid of stuff because thinking about it makes me crazy. Being a collector of accessories kind of makes that a problem sometimes, because you tend to get A LOT of extra stuff when you buy accessories - stuff you don't need :P Right now I have a xylophone and green baby bottle that I just really don't need and it drives me insane :yikes:

FILLY PONIES! Seriously.. I hate that crappy things. :<
( so sorry to everyone who collects them ; ^; )

I just find them sooo weird and they have taken over all the pony-isles in german stores (probably b/c it is a german company that MADE those abominations!)
Sometimes stores won't even sell MLP anymore and just stock Fillies. Agh, they make me SO ANGRY. xD
OH. MY. GOD!
I am so glad to hear somebody else say this! xP
I hate them too - they're pushing the real mlp out of the stores, they're starting to be all I ever find at flea markets and they look like dinosoars - grrrr! x)

ps. If anyone's interested, the MH fakies made by Simba are basically just Steffi Love dolls with tacky makeup and pseudo-goth clothes, they're called Mystic Girlz - http://simbatoys.de/en/brands__products/steffi_love/mystic_girlz.shtml

Unwanted fakies and G3 plushies. I keep ending up with both, and I constantly try to get rid of them. I have another batch to get rid of. lol

Right now the bane of my pony existence is definitely the wave 3 blind bag box at work that is /still/ empty. Argh.

Pink highlighter! It's the one thing I can't get off my ponies  >_< who gave the children pink highlighter and said they could decorate their ponies with it?!

Adding "Shops that won't ship overseas" to my list.

So I thought I got lucky because ToyWiz switched their entries for the spa pony set from sold out to preorder available. So I quickly tried to buy from there.

As it turns out, they won't ship to Malaysia. Singapore, however, is okay.

So I gave them my VPost address instead.

The darn set is going to cost me about a 80-100 US dollars alone :yikes: VPost is very expensive. Plus I still have to pay for the shipping from ToyWiz to VPost's virtual postbox facility. Bad enough that I'm paying 5 dollars more than what BBTS wants for the set...

Damnit, if only BBTS wasn't sold out on them! They'd ship direct to Malaysia! >_<

And unlike Singapore, blind bag ponies will never show up in Malaysia :cloud: it's in their no-no list along with the so-softs, RC Vehicles and ride-alongs  :cloud:

Can I add pony shoes? Ugh! Is it just me or do they never fit properly? I took all the shoes off my shoe owning ponies years ago, and recently I sold the lot and regret nothing.

Ponies don't even need shoes!

(They don't need clothes either, but hush :p)

Ebay buyers and sellers, they pay and expect 3x too much.

10 years ago it was an awesome way to get bygone stuff, but now everypony and their granny is on there with all sorts of sniping apps, poor spelling apps, schill bidding schemes, and general crazyness. There are a few good deals to be had, but you have wait it out for a while like a stalker.

THIS!
I havent seen a 'real' pony in a store near me for over a year - only those... IMPOSTORS! D:
They make me cry girly tears.

Pindot! Arghh...It just won't come off for me. Hot water, soap, and more soap, fingernails, toothbrush, or stainless steel brush. Nothing! Nothing I do gets it off the ponies!

I agree with the highlighter/pen/marker on ponies too. They just do not belong near each other!

:| My issue is only finding the main/mane six G4 ponies on shelves at Walmart, Target and TRU. I've found that Dollar General carries the brushables like FeatherMay and the other G4 none core brushables.

G3.5 Stylin Pinkie Pie! They come in every bulk lot of ponies i buy! I had 4 but someone actually bought one from me. I've never been a fan of the 3.5s and do not collect them at all. Yet here i am currently with 3 of these giant headed ponies staring at me with wide eyes. They take up much too much space and I just want them to go away!

Also as stated above ugly fakies and also thrashed ponies with marker and bite marks. They are still ponies and I can't bear to toss them. But what am i gonna do with them?

Friends are my main problem.
One of my best friends often joke with how stupid Mlp is. My best friend is almost against pink. But other than that they are too friendly to lose...
I'm trying to 'hint' at it, hoping that they'll accept it when i actually tell them.. Like saying how popular it is on the internet... Telling them how much i played with them as a child... No luck yet. I guess i'm just horrible at admitting interests and such, as i had the same problem with my family.

Whimper!

Lol! When I went blind bag hunting at TRU over the weekend, there were two of those Pinkie Pies on the shelf next to the blind bags. No matter how far I moved away, she still kept talking.... @__@

I'm a new collector so I'm still learning the rounds for who has what around here but Walmart and Target never have anything but the G4 cores. (It's not that big of a deal since I only have one and intend to get more.. but I'm seeing all these really neat packs online but never in person. :T) TRU didn't really have much when I had one, either.. Hoping to at least see Zecora and Trixie someday.

 Even if they don't accept your hobby, then they should still be a friend. Not all my friends understand my pony hobby. They don't make me feel bad about it either.

Packaging. I'm an avid recycler, and it drives me nuts separating out the plastic from the not-even-recyclable cardboard. Sometimes there's a few pieces of cardboard that are recyclable, with the bigger sets and such, but the whole ordeal is so time consuming and it makes me feel wasteful!

It was especially bad like with TRU's recent BOGO when I stocked up on a bunch of Celestia packs (lol customs) and grabbed the talking Cadence for the hay of it. It was about an hour separating out the packaging and it really sucked the joy out of the purchase. I've since learned to put the trash aside and just sit there with the ponies for a while before bothering with it.

I totally agree with hating everything that makes noises while you're in the aisle. I have a couple of pony friends that don't necessarily collect but help and support me, and the Leapfrog things bother all of us. What's worse is there's two of those sorts of things in our Target, and the ponies right between them. So if we pace we set them both off. There's also some Disney princess mirror thing in Walmart that my fiance once set off, and it told him he was a pretty princess. He won't go down that aisle with me anymore, but it was priceless.

How about the fact that MLP seems to be scarce around me. My TRU barely stocks any, along with my local Meijer. I find a few here and there at thrift stores, nothing so far at yard sales. The only way I seem to get any is through the people here or on eBay!

Grrrrrr.... >_<

Personally I find it really irritating that nearly every ebay pony auction has RARE! or HTF in the title, especially with common as dirt ponies! As if anyone is going to believe that! Collectors know darn well when something is rare and what you got ain't it!

The bane of my pony existence is parts of the Pretty Parlor, everywhere.  Random walls and dingy bases and the back wall with a peeling mirror sticker.  I have parts to *dozens* of these things, in various stages of bad-to-worse condition, blue faded to a hundred unappealing shades of old-toy-in-bad-condition and yet I feel like I can't get rid of them in any way.  Nobody wants them, can't sell them, and yet I'd never throw anything MLP away.  ;)  Every big lot I buy has more parts like this!  AAAAAAAAgh.  :D

I personally can't do a thing with them as I don't customize. I have them listed on my sales thread though

I'm going to expand on this and just say PARTS in general!! I have ONE floor to the perm shoppe, and none of the rest of it XD I can't throw it away, and I don't want to sell it in case I find an incomplete one and need it, so for now it just sits there.  >_<

I have a Show Stable I "rescued" from a second hand store. It's missing EVERYTHING not permanently attached. All doors, windows, and of course accessories like flags and fences. It has most stickers though. It's quite dirty and drawn on with crayon. I searched the toy bins for ANY of the parts but found nothing
I'm holding onto it in hopes restoring it.

I'm in a similar case, but mine has a bed, one door, and the weathervane roof portion (the little horsey is broken off though).  I REALLY want the doors.  Sigh.
