Who or what has brought you to the darkside

Mine started when I was about 5 or 6 years old in the early 90s. My family stopped at a church that was having a big garage sale, and I found an entire paper bag filled with ponies. I don't remember a lot of them that were in the bag except for Twist and Galaxy (who are still two of my faves). And I've been hooked ever since. I had to stop collecting for a few years due to money issues, but last year someone gave me a gift card for ebay, and that jump started my obsession once again.

I've always had ponies in my life. I had a G1s as a kid and kept them even though I didn't get into G2. When my eldest kid was a toddler I got her some G3s and realized I still loved ponies. When G4 came out I was collecting G1 again and we had amassed hundreds of G3 ponies thrifting. We all like G4 so there is no shortage of ponies here.

I am short on space but I would love to have my pony room again.

I started collecting my little pony back in 1983, my mother bought be my first two ponies; Moodancer and Firefly.

I've been a MLP collector going on 34 years now not much other story other than I've liked MLP for a looonnnggg time.

If the dark side is the "gotta catch 'em all" side, then I've always been here, ha ha!  I've been collecting since the beginning.

There was a time when I had a $20 per pony spending limit, but that quickly rose to $35 when I discovered nirvanas, then $50, then $75, and so on.

Started in 83 with blossom to 88. I thought I was too old for collecting ponies, but still played with them. Started to collect porcelain horses. 90 Started riding real horses, started owning real horses in 96. 

2011 wanted to decorate the baby nursery with MLP but couldn't find anything. Sister in law bought a set of ponies for my daughter so I decided to collect 1 of each G4 character for her. Started going to thrift stores and buying G3`s for her as well.

Found a baby moon dancer and a bait princess royal pink at a value village and haven't stopped since.

Being a child of the 80's did it. I had ponies as a kid. Becoming a collector however started in college when I found out that my ponies were sold in a yard sale. At first I only wanted the ones I had as a kid......it slowly got out of control from there. lol

No one knows to be honest.  My mom thinks she donated my first pony to charity when i was REALLY little, cause I didnt play with it.  But I remember digging for my Lickety Split in my elephant toy box as some of my earliest  good memories.  Its been so long that I dont think my mom would be able to tell me who gave me that LS, but I still love and have her today

Missing childhood ponies seem to be a leading cause of pony addiction.

I have no such excuse.  Genetic maybe?
