I can't think of any weird places I've found ponies. But, if we get into related Hasbro toys, I found a Glo Butterfly behind a piece of furniture when I rearranged my bedroom. I think she was behind my bookshelf. This was like 6 or 7 years after I'd sold all my other Glo Friends.

At a tiny thrift store in the middle of nowhere, I once found a g1 birthflower.

Do blindbags count?

I found one on the floor today outside a huge shopping centre in a city I don't live in. Stepped on/kicked it and looked down thinking I had dropped something but, nope!, blind bag PeachyPie!
Idly searching for: loose, good condition G4 Blossomforth, Starbeam Twinkle, Plumsweet. TTM Celestia doll's wings Within UK or EU only, please.
Will also take in Pretty Pony Club (UK magazine) fakies.

Ive found a g3 butterscotch in a toy isle of a toy store department. I did ask if some left it behind I was about to leave it there but they said no. I took it home. I think shes around here somewhere. I have found G1 MOC ponies in a flea market. They don't sell them no more its sad or I never saw any in their booth.

The Disney Store; I actually have a photograph of this somewhere, at the beginning of the year I went to the Disney store in one of the more high-end shopping malls in town and there was a (G4) Pinkie Pie sitting behind the counter on the box they keep the giant key in.

Another one doesn't seem like it would be weird, during the first year or so of G4 when they had those ones with the scooters I saw a Fluttershy in the box for the Fluttershy one, the reason why this is strange is because it was a McDonalds Fluttershy

I saw a G4 Rainbow Dash blu-tacked to the top of the cash register in an Indian restaurant once. It was so cute, like she was their little mascot  :P They'd given her a hair cut so she had a short mohawk looking thing going on!

Edit: Oh! Actually now that I remember: I've also seen a G4 Rarity in the window of an.. optometrist's I think? Either that or a Dentist, I can't remember which. She was there with a bunch of other toys.

We were at a flea market (not too out of the ordinary) but in a beauty salon shop at the flea market, there was a G1 pony that the woman had put product in her hair to style it! There were only two and I already had one of them, but I took the blue-green pegasus home with me  waited in line for about 15 minutes to ask how much the pony was but it was worth it

That's so wonderful that you were able to rescue her!

Well does my forehead count?Because a little girl threw her mcdonalds pinkie pie at me once. And it's not the worse... she threw her dolls at me, and even a stapler.Yes you've read right, she threw a stapler at me.Pinkie was nothing because a monster high lagoona went right near my eye.Result : a one of the glass from my eyeglasses was broken. And the best is that i still managed to save this pinkie.

That is freaky! That kid sounds completely disturbing! Her parents should have paid for your eyeglasses' repair.

I found Firefly and Surprise in the middle of the sidewalk about
half a block from my house.   They were in a box with a few other
random things.  I think they tell off a moving truck.

For me the most unexpected place I found ponies was in a "decade display" case at a Disney World hotel!  The hotel featured display cases to highlight different decades and in the 80s case were three G1 ponies, including a UK Gusty!

not a pony, but I "found" a fellow collector in the wild on a shopping trip one time! We recognized each other from photos we'd posted here!

About a year after I moved into my current house (in the middle of nowhere) my nieces and nephews found a G3 Triple Treat buried in the yard.  One side is faded and the mane is cut really weird, so it made me wonder if the lawn mower gave it a trim and miraculously avoided ruining any other part of it.
