Who has never seen a $2 bill before?

My grandma gave me a few $2 bills when I was going up, usually at Easter. Whenever she did my parents took them and gave me two $1 bills in it's place. My mom still have those $2 bills tucked away somewhere.

xD I didn't realize I was THAT old? but I still remember them being in normal circulation and the whole debate on whether or not to do away with them haha. One of them is all tattered and crumbling because I kept it in my shoe during Marching band performances. My grandpa gave it to me so I could buy a snack after our halftime routine. (no pockets in our uniforms) Forgot to get a snack and just kinda kept it in my shoe for the whole season as a goodluck thing. :p 

looking at it reminds me of all the fun I had during marching band, also of my grandpa who was always slipping my sister and I a couple bucks for a yummy treat. xD Now every time we visit him, I occasionally catch him doing the same with my son, and I think its so cute lol.

I remember one time my mom sent me into a local gas station convenience store to get some drinks, and they gave me back $2 bills and I was so lost. I don't know if I said anything to the cashier, but I certainly did check with my mom when I got back to the car to see if they were real. 

This had to have been ten years ago, now. I don't know if I even have any of them anymore.

I used to get a $2 bill from my grandmother sometimes also. I'm pretty sure I still have at least one. I thought they were fake at first too until my mom told me they were real.

Some of those dollar coins can throw you off though!

Are they really rare? I've seen a couple pass through one of the stores I work at here in canada the last couple months.

They still print them - really not sure why they bother. 

They still mint Kennedy halves too - although they supposedly make "only enough for collectors".  No one uses those either. 

I really wish our country didn't have to go through Congress to change currency-related things.  The nickel and penny both cost more than they're worth to make, but we keep making them...  Not to mention the billions of presidential dollars that are sitting in vaults... (Because no one likes them, because they of course can't stop printing the $1 bill, for various political reasons). At least the Presidential $ series is almost over. 

Canada got rid of their 1 cent coin a few years ago...wish we could be persuaded to follow their example.

I have one somewhere, and my mom collects them.  When I used to work retail, I'd ferret them out to her whenever one would come into my cash register.  They're rare but not completely gone.

I can't believe anyone wouldn't recognize one.
