I've gotten them a few times vending at conventions. I hold onto them and trade them to my dad for singles since he hoards 2 dollar bills for some reason. The one piece of currency I can get and know immediately where someone is from; those one dollar Sacajawea coins from eons ago. Literally the only place I know that still gives those as change is the Los Angeles Metro machines where you can buy and reload fare cards. I have no idea where the LADOT gets them, but they've had them in those machines for years.
was always told if I got one to never use it cause they're fake.
xD I didn't realize I was THAT old? but I still remember them being in normal circulation and the whole debate on whether or not to do away with them haha. One of them is all tattered and crumbling because I kept it in my shoe during Marching band performances. My grandpa gave it to me so I could buy a snack after our halftime routine. (no pockets in our uniforms) Forgot to get a snack and just kinda kept it in my shoe for the whole season as a goodluck thing. :p

Have a small stack of 13 on my desk, and 8 of them are is sequential order. With them are 2 'Silver certificate' $1 bills if anyone knows what those are.My mom brought home the 8 when A guy paid with a few.According to the coin shop in town, they aren't rare and being in order dosen't make them anymore special. Just uncommon as they aren't widely used.
