She is so cute. L got on the computer and was able to google "Pokemon games" and found some on the website that she liked. There was a Pokeball in her Easter basket, and she was throwing it all over the place at my mom's. Of course, she lost the Pikachu that was inside, so everyone had to stop and comb the yard to find it (we found it). She went through her new Pokemon cards on the way to the dentist this morning, and has asked me every.single.morning if Pikachu is at Build-a-Bear yet. This kid...I've been looking at ebay lots for the little vinyl figures, and studying up on Bulbapedia  :read: Tomorrow, the library!

I hope she looks back on this time and fondly remembers her mom and dad learning regions and pokemon names and abilities.

Glad I could help! Are you going to take her to the store or buy the bundle online?

Still convincing the hubby to take her to the store...online bundle is just too much :( It would probably be easier to convince him if there was room in her bed for HER to sleep LOL so many plushies!

Somehow I highly doubt that she has as many plushies as I do. I've been collecting since the day I was born!

A couple pics of my bed.

Thank you.  :inlove: I'm very proud of my collection. And that's only a drop in the bucket! My collection numbers in the thousands. When I was about your daughter's age my mom tried to make a rule that I couldn't have more than 10 stuffed animals on my bed. Yeah... that lasted about a week. Next time your hubby complains about your DD's collection, I will gladly provide you with more pictures of my collection. That should shut him up.  :devious:

I know I have an extra Snorlax beanie and I should have an extra Poliwhirl beanie. If you're interested in them, drop me a PM and I'll dig them out.

Well, we spent last night in the ER with her, maybe now DH will cave and take us to BaB lol DD is fine, just needed some stitches; she was fooling around after brushing her teeth and fell face first into the counter. Tooth through the lip, another tooth at 90 degrees (Tooth Fairy is getting ready). All I wanted was a quiet Friday night...

SailorStitch, lemme see if she knows who those characters are, thank you!

Edit: Both of the BAB on our side of the state are out of stock of Pikachu :(

I wouldn't worry about the games being too complicated, sure they're a bit text-heavy for little kids, but they are also really easy to follow.

I played my first pokemon game when I was 6 or 7, and I played it in English. I'm not a native speaker and was starting to learn the language back then and could follow it perfectly fine, plus we had way less tutorials back in the 90s so gameplay at least shouldn't be an issue.

If you have a GBA, that console has some really neat Pokemon games: Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald; Fire Red and Leaf Green, and some beloved spinoffs like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. I'd suggest you check what version comes with what (for example, in the case of the first three I listed, Emerald is the most complete) and decide which should she try first. Check out Serebii, it has pretty complete info on the video games.

Books beyond game guides sound like a really good idea for more pokemon stuff plus the TV show compliments the games really well and the way it's written and presented is good for newcomers.

Ouch! :( That sounds really painful! Poor kid, wishing her a speedy recovery.
