UK ponies found locally =)

Well, as my fellow Canucks know, the Canadian dollar is really terrible right now.  It's hard for me to justify buying ponies when it's 0.70 to the USD.  I've been making an effort to sell or trade what I can, and buy locally when possible.  A few weeks ago, I came across a really neat lot on Kijiji.

When I started collecting, I used to buy in lots, and most of what I got was new to me.  At this point, that's almost impossible.  It's been about 7 years since I was able to buy a lot and get a bunch of new ponies at once for my collection =)

I won't bother uploading all 10 pics, but there were UK ponies in this massive lot!  It's hard to make out anything, but I could tell who they were from the colour combinations (my family finds that scary, but that's normal around here, right?)

There were 71 regular ponies, not counting the McD's ponies and fakies, which worked out to about $2.40 per pony.  The only problem was that it was in Quebec City, about 5 hours away by car, and the seller didn't want to ship them.  Just by luck, my mom's BFF happens to have family in Quebec city, and was about to go for a visit, so she picked them up for me 

They all used to think my collection was weird, but they've come around.  I think getting married and having kids helped =)

Ooooooh my god, I recognized them right away from those first photos, too! Not only did you get Euro ponies, but you got some of the best Euro ponies! You got some of my grails. I am so, so jealous right now. How extremely cool!

I've found euros and UK's in the wild here as well- it seems to happen with some regularity. So not all that shocked, but it IS shocking how many and how many great ones you ended up with, heck even the US/Canada line G1's you killed it. 

Agreed on our dollar too. $30 bucks turns into $40something on paypal. GREAT.  When I started online our dollar was pretty horrible as well. something had to be super awesome for me to justify buying it online. It's back to those days again, which makes finds like these so much better!

Because of the dollar, difficulty selling things with our shipping. We sort of have a small Toronto group going. (I'm long distance, but from the area originally). and my friend has a bunch now, and will eventually end up with most of my spare ponies to trade/sell locally for us. I'm doing the same with smaller items here, and each are collecting off both our missing lists. If you have a friend, it makes collecting that much easier if you can collect for two, or have someone that'll send you a local listing when they spot something your missing etc.

Nice haul! I have often considered asking people to pick up lots of toys for me in carrying parts of the world. LOL I haven't done it yet, but it has crossed my mind many times! I love the sea ponies.

That's a Twinkle Eye pony, Sweet Pop.  Her body is amazing, but part of her hair is frizzy, and part is cut.  She could use some restore work =)
