Has anyone taken apart Kitty Surprise (I did- tutorial below!)

I know there was a reason I bin picked that lovely white fur... (right now she has pony surprise babies because she has none, hahahaha)

She needs new fur on her face and ears. I'm just wondering what I'm up against on the insides? The holding layer for her nonexistent babies shouldn't be too tough to seam rip. I'm assuming that the face is not glued, just sewn? I don't have a sewing machine so I'd be looking at hand stitching it all.

Or would someone else like to re-home her that doesn't have this one?

Since I see that a few people have looked at this thread and you may come across one of these with a fur trim... You need time for this type of project. This took me about 6 hours, but I did it while binge watching Once Upon a Time so it was all good. Pic spam to follow.

The inner pouch is attached by the neck and tail. Pull to remove stitches

remove head stitches to give room to turn inside out

Here's the inner face. remove the stitching on the plastic.

then remove stitching on outer fur. need to liberate all that pink fuzz

replacement fur. cut on back with knife, try not to go deep or you'll trim the fur down a lot. cut strips about 3/4" they are folded over

sew fur wrong sides in,

This kitty had NO ear fur left either. Poor thing.

cut your pieces about 1" sew good sides out small stitches. Shove into ear canal and sew back into ear, I pulled just a bit of the existing fur to the front.

After fur has been re-sewn

Push it all back through the pouch again. I choose to turn the head just a touch more naturally toward kittys white belly fur.
Re-attached to head. your fingers will hurt. I used a very thin needle for stitching back to the face. I also used the seam ripper to make the holes bigger if need be.

I pulled out kitty's tail stuffing for science, needed something to put it back in...

Completed. Now through all of this don't forget to re-sew up the inner pouch. (If you noticed, I also moved her ribbon closer to her ear.)

Voila! finished custom product vs a factory counterpart. I need a bit more stuffing for her, she was washed and it's all compacted.
