What is your favourite pony that was released in your birthyear?

I figured it would be cool to share with one another what our favourite ponies were from the years we were born in with some pony history and pop culture from that year! I'll start us off:

I was born in 1992 (making me 23-going on 24. Eesh i'm old ) Sister Act, Aladdin, and Wayne's World wer released in theatres, and Pearl Jam and Nirvana filled the airwaves. In MLP, Year 10 ponies were just coming to a close in North America marking the end of the first generation of ponies for NA (but ponies continued on internationally for a few more years) Also, the My Little Pony Tales tv show was just coming on the air.

My favourite pony from 1992 would have to be Flowerbelle from the Flower Fantasy Line (Image courtesy of Strawberry Reef)

The G2 line was first produced the year I was born - 1997. I can't choose a favorite pony from that time, but it's neat to share the same year with my favorite pony gen!

My vintage is 1991 - Children of the 90s unite! Bring on the plaid shirts and colourful trousers!
I'm not 100% is Baby Starbow is from that year or 1990 but I love her anyway. Everything about her design is just gorgeous!

Hmm...late 1984.  Year 3.  White Cap.  I like white ponies with dark mane colors.  The bright highlight increases its appeal.

I was born in Dec 1982, so there weren't a ton of ponies around then... But I do love my Dec Birthflower pony and the bottom of her hoof is stamped 1982.  I think the actual release date of the first wave of ponies was 83 right?

The #1 song on the Billboard charts at the time was "Mickey" by Toni Basil.. that catchy cheerleader song.. so I leave you now to envision ponies dancing to that.

Being born in 83, I'd say Windy. DD born in 2003 says Butterscotch.

I was born in June of '91, so I guess that makes mine Year 10.

Looking through everything put out that year, there wasn't a lot that interested me, but this one caught my eye.

I was born in 1980, so I was two years before the first My Little Ponies came out. Sad for me! But still a fun thread to read! ^-^

Well I got a choice on my hands! 1987 was my year! I'm assuming that I'm a Year 5 because that is '86-'87 which I guess means late '86 and early '87, I don't know how the releases were handled back then

I would have to say it would be Dancing Butterflies <3 I owned one as a kid and she is somewhere in my restores to be fixed up lol

I'm 1982. Though I know that there were a few early ponies around in autumn 82 in the States, there were none in 82 in the UK as far as I am aware. Even if there was, I was born at the start of the year, so yeah, no ponies at that time. I'm also not a huge fan of the Flat Foots...I dunno which of them I'd choose if I had to choose one.

Yeah, no ponies in 1977. But there were horse toys!  My favorite from that year would have to be the springy ride on ones. You know, the ones you fell off, or the springs broke, or that you'd get your hair caught in the springs... great times!
