Equestria Girls: What they wear & customization!
« on: July 12, 2015, 08:57:43 AM »
Per Loa she said we could have a discussion on what EG can wear and customization techniques. So discuss away. Please keep all other discussion regarding the dolls to the corral. I believe Barbgirl's thread is still near the first page.

Does anyone have a resource showing which dolls have rooted hair and/or actual feet? I want to pick up some of the clearance main 6 for customizing.

I wouldn't mind experimenting with taking one apart and seeing how they work if I could find a cheapish one.

They fit Lala Loopsy outfits perfectly!  Oops- I mean La Dee Da (sorry all these doll companies!)

They fit Monster High tween sized outfits- like Twila's and Howleen's  - but they are more square so it isn't a perfect fit...

I was wondering if they could wear those outfits, especially after seeing the comparison pic in the other thread.  What lalaloopsy outfits can they wear?

Sorry to mislead you- I was thinking of La Dee Da doll outfits-  (such similar names!)

All of the outfits fit really well- and are quite frankly better made than most of the Hasbro outfits.
I thought this one looked cute on Twilight: http://www.amazon.com/Dee-Da-Fashion-Accessory-School/dp/B008QJ175Y/ref=sr_1_19?ie=UTF8&qid=1436824345&sr=8-19&keywords=la+dee+da

And I got this one for one of the Pinkie dolls http://www.amazon.com/La-Dee-Da-Kickin-Fashion/dp/B00AZP0W6M/ref=pd_sim_21_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=0DEKARYFJ3SRG958WTF4

I'm not sure if that doll line is still active- but you can get some pretty great deals on the dolls and outfits...

Does anyone know if they have body matches to MH dolls? I'd really like to see that.

The adult MH clothing don't fit. The teenager MH dolls kinda fit although they don't look quite right

Novi Stars outfits kinda fit - I have my Vinyl wearing the Winter Gear fashion pack and the dress fits her as a coat, if that makes sense. Not sure about other Novi outfits.

Monster High outfits tend to be pretty hit or miss.

Apparently the smaller, shorter MH dresses do work for EQ dolls:

Someone posted this one over in the MH arena a while back

I think this comparison photo of the Equestria dolls compared to the other lines- is really helpful

The more "deluxe" Equestria Girls dolls have cute outfits- but one of the things that irritates me about the more basic dolls is they have truly appallingly cheap clothing, painted on tights, almost no fabric at all, thinly rooted hair, and fixed elbows and knees.  The deluxe dolls have better outfits, hair and joints- but they are considerably more expensive (usually like $22).  And for that price, they should be doing a LOT better- (compare $22 Equestria girl to $22 Monster HIgh and there is no comparison- MH has better hair, outfit, and joints).

I guess the only thing in the Equestria Girl's favor- is that the joints are REALLY tough. So the arms and legs don't break as easily as the MH dolls, and will likely hold up to much rougher play (by smaller kids say)

That said, I do like them, and their bright colors and smiles display really well with MLP. :D
