Oh... to be outbid by a dollar *UPDATE - page 1*
« on: May 22, 2015, 12:28:32 PM »
Oh even worse than before...  :cloud:  I was watching a second hidden lot.  This time I set my snipe and I watched the end of it.  I waited and waited and waited.  For some reason my bid didn't go through.  *wails*  I am absolutely gutted.  Someone got an amazing score.  Congrats to the winning buyer, I do mean that sincerely.  :)  Guess my hunt for Applejack shall continue.

***********************************************

I was bidding on a hidden lot and watching with both fingers crossed.  I stepped away for a moment to make the kids lunch and was outbid by a dollar.  :(  Oh well, there will be more.

Uuuggh, I know the feel. I once was outbid by about ¢20 on a gorgeous green-haired Peruvian Lickety Split (she went for less than $50, and all the ones I've seen since have been upward of $100 ). I'm sorry you lost this one, but you're right, there'll be others.

Awww, there will be others, as you said!  That's too bad, though.

I've been outbid by a dollar before, at the last moment, for a G4 Diamond Rose.  Ugh.  Still trying to find someone else selling that pony, too...

Just remember - you do not know how much the winning bidder actually bid. If this ever happens to me I always pretend they bid way more than I would have (which is usually true anyway, because I usually place my max bid).

I have been outbid by a dollar too when it came to me trying 3 pearlized babies. :/ That does happen but I have got alot of other great ponies. So I can't complain too much.

Moonflower is right. It's not necessarily just by a dollar, sometimes their max bid is $10 or $15 more than yours was. I also prefer to think that way, since I've been outbid by mere pence on multiple occasions.

You're right, though. There will definitely be more, so good luck for the next one!

I suppose you're right, it could have been much more than $1.  However, I was willing to bid more (and was planning on it), so it just stung a little.  :P

Anyway, I would have been more upset if it was the Rainbow Power version of AJ.  I'm holding out hope that one day I'll run across the regular FS Applejack at a garage sale.  ^.^

ah yes, I've been outbid like that many many times.  I think the worst was when I was outbid by 23 cents... >.<

My advice is to always max bid(especially if you're going to get up to do something else when the auction ends). I win 90% of my ebay auctions this way. For whatever reason, people just do not put their max. I'm honestly not usually the sniping type, but I do get sneaky for items I want badly. I always do the combo of last 5 seconds + max bid. Works pretty well.

I'm usually a sniper.  I typically put the minimum bid in if there's no bids, then snipe later.  But this was one of the rare times I put in "X" amount with the intent on keeping an eye on it.  Tis my own fault.  ;)

Ah, I'm the type to wait it out, if there's no bids, I keep it that way until the end lol. Unless it's something I don't want that badly. But like everyone else said, there will be more!  :) Maybe you'll find an even better lot.
