SDCC 2015 Exclusive - Online 28th July

Me too. I thought the funko line was still doing ok too, but I don't think the sdcc variants ever did that well. It's still sad there isn't one at all though.

The SDCC variants didn't do well because they were just black recolors of the regular ones. If they did glow in the dark or flocked or metallic I think they would have been liked more.

Indeed, or even a "crystal clear/invisible" variant would have been neat (like with that Mystery Mini clear variant of Discord).
Speaking of, to add on what you said, it was also because last year's SDCC exclusives were just "big" versions of the Mystery Mini variants of Spitfire and DJ (who are/were black). So for some, it's like "why shell out to get the SDCC version when I can just get the mini-sized one for a fraction of the price?"
...which was why people didnt get that light-up DJ Pony Hasbro SDCC exclusive and just went/waited for the Funko release of her.

At least the Funko exclusives before them made sense because at the time, Rainbow Dash and Muffins didnt have a glitter variant.

I think the DJ Pon-3 exclusive was just poorly executed.  Those glitter legs . . .

Sorry to hear that people were rude to the Hasbro reps at the fair.  There are ways to share an opinion without being rude and besides, at the end of the day they're just toys.

I actually liked the DJ pon-3 exclusive and think she was actually worth the 50$. She is unique, has Swarovski crystals and her box has two different light functions. Chicken Pinkie has less to offer in my book.

As much as I disliked the DJ pony, I must agree - at least she did something to elevate her value to $50 worth.

I actually agree.  While glitter is a little ughhh DJ actually felt like she was worth $50 with all the crystals and the multiple light up functions.  She's definately one you want to keep in box but still, I happily spent the money for her.

Chicken Pinkie however I wasn't even slightly tempted considering the $50 price tag.  Had she been $25 or $30 I might have thought about it (because even though I don't really like her, I DO like her box/packaging) but in no way did I feel she was worth anywhere near $50.

Funko revealed the last of their exclusives yesterday and there weren't any ponies (which I'm 100% okay with given the boring ones we got from them last year that didn't even sell well).  I'm sure we'll see an EqG doll, but with how hush hush Hasbro was with chicken Pinkie Pie, I'm sure we won't find out about that until the first day of SDCC.

I think the baseball Pinkie Pie figures are the only other pony exclusives I've seen for SDCC.  While I think the idea behind them is really cute, it's weird that we haven't seen much else MLP related for the con...

Whew! I am glad me and boyfriend are saving $35+ this year  I love EQG but I don't like Twilight Sparkle...
