Help with Soda Sippin Pony Accessory!
« on: May 11, 2015, 09:49:14 PM »
I recently got one of my grail ponies (Soda Sippin Chocolate Delight)  :lovey: and am having problems with the soda floats beads not coming up the straw. I know its gotten wet at some point and I remember a post about this some time ago but can't find it. Any help would be much appreciated as I love to see her drink her float again! ^.^

As yes, as I recall that may have been me.

I stupidly washed my soda thinking it would be cleaner. But all it did was jam the beads into my float.

I took a bobby pin and poked it gentaly through the buttom on the float and blew air into it. I don't really recall if it helped or not..gosh it was so long ago.

My beads still get stuck but not to badly. They all come up.  I would say try tipping it upside down and squish the float. Past that not to sure.

A note to all collectors 'Don't ever wash your float..never get them wet!'
Aghhhhhhh!!!!!!! Its a pain to fix!

Oh it's so annoying hey!  I had Strawberry Scoops as a kid and got the soda wet, and it's never been the same.  TBH, I think the only solution would be to somehow replace the foam balls (which would involve cutting the accessory open, and of course finding the perfect size balls to fit the tube/straw).  I've seen some sodas where the balls have become faded and had the colour washed out of them.  It's a pity they didn't think to put a warning on the box or something!  One dip and it's ruined! :(

Thank you everyone for the help.So far I got the balls up the straw and like daffodil101 mentioned they had faded over time. I'll try the bobby pin trick, LightingElectricDream and hopefully that it'll help them move better up the straw. ^.^

Would letting the float hang out in a bowl of dry rice for a few days help?

Its actually the water that removes the dye :( Unfortunately they are not a fan of water at all.

In theory you dont see them come out of the straw unless the soda is being pressed but you really want to make sure the inside of the soda is as dry as possible because otherwise the balls will dissolve even more.
