My little pony comics

So ive recently aquired about 40 my little pony comics and now ive decided i need them all haha so just wondering does anyone know roughly how many were made?

If you mean the G1 comics, are they 'My Little Pony' or 'My Little Pony and Friends'? The first series ran for 223 issues, and the 'And friends' series ran for 51 issues, ending in 1993 and 1994, respectively. Which issues do you have?
If you mean the G3 comics (G2 ones were made though), there were several different series published between 2003 and 2008. I don't know much about them.
If you mean the G4 comics, I really don't know much about them.
Since you probably mean the G1 comics, I'd love to see which numbers you have! There are some really good ones out there, like the comic with the origin of the TEs, the enchanted mirror story (the origin of the baby ponies) , the comic with the mice/water rats in top hats, the comic where Ace breakdances, and the comic with the Smooze from the movie in it!

oh wow i had no idea each generation had comics!! All mine so far are G1 but im quickly going to have to check which series now haha

Ok so i have 49 comics ranging from no.6 up until no.103, obviously missing a few inbetween, but i have just noticed that number 101 still has its free drawing card gift

That's great! My copy of 101 doesn't have it.
For the G1 comics, 1-60 tend to be easy to find, 61-100 slightly harder to find, 101-150 hard to find, 151-175 harder to find, 176-200 very hard to find, and 200-223 extremely hard to find. For the 'And Friends' comics, it's the same categories with 1-5, 6-14, 15-25, 26-30, 31-37, 38-51. It is possible that you will have to pay quite a sum of money for some of those later ones! Issue 6, if I remember, is called 'Cotton Candy's Washing Day', and issue 103 has Ringlets the BNG pony on the cover, if I remember rightly.

Ok now im super impressed by this knowledge!! I thought i was good as being able to tell you what every pony eye colour was! ( a small and sad game me and my sister used to play :p )

'My Little Pony' issues:
58, 84-85, 90-109, 154-155, 163, 173, 175, 182, 190, 196, 205-207, 209, 211-212, 215, 221.
'My Little Pony And Friends' issues:
30, 38-46.
That's what I have. However, I don't have too many earlier issues (in ratio to the later issues I have at least) so I admire your collection as well.

How do you store yours? Ive just placed mine individually into plastic A4 paper wallets and slotted them into a hard folder.

I have mine in ITOYA art portfolios.

I have 1-221 (I believe) and 223 and missing quite a few from the MLP and Friends set D= I think I have: 1-11, 13-24, 28-30, 37, 38, 40-49 and 51.  I have to go thru them again since I've added some since I last wrote them down...

I've got to start reading them sometime

I tend to read mine (look through is a better word) when I get mine. I still don't know a lot of what's in my issues (haven't looked through some of them in a year or so) so I may have to... well, I guess the mystery is better when applied to G1 comics.
I have been very jealous of your collection since BEFORE I joined the forum, Wildshadow. I guess some people are just lucky...ah well.
I keep some of mine in a portfolio, some others in a bedroom somewhere. I guess I need a bigger portfolio...

This is exactly how I store mine, although I have 3 large folders full.

Yup - thats how I keep mine as well individual labelled polly pockets in lever arch folders...all very official!

I only have 1 of the G1s, but I have one of each G4 issue (the current ones). They are all in their sleeves with card (from the store) and they are kept in those upright magazine holders.

so i think i already know the answer but does the free gift improve the price if its still inside the magazine? I have atleast 9 issues which still have the free gift attached.

Yes it does, but how much so depends on whi h gift. The card ones are the most likely to still be attached.

Mine are also in a4 pockets in lever arch files! I get about 75 in a folder.
