In general, our accents are pretty boring. I guess it's because we're so used to them.

I also think it's the WAY American English is spoken as well. I don't really know how to describe it, but the way we pronounce our words is so...blunt? Whereas British/Irish/Australian/New Zealand all have more of a "singsong" quality. I don't know if I'm making any sense...Probably the closest American accent comes to that quality is the southern, and if I had to pick a fave American one that'd be it.
I do quite like a Scots accent. Which is lucky because I live in Scotland! I also like Scandinavian and French accents in particular. I think all accents are pretty cool and often wish I had a more distinct accent myself.
I'm pretty biased towards the Australian accent as my husband is Australian...
