mlp pop
« on: November 07, 2014, 08:08:47 AM »
When I go to walmart with my husband late at night I usually like to take a look at the pony aisle. When the aisle was mostly g4 brushables it used to be hard to even snag one. The shelf would always be empty. I feel like the shelves are stocked up with those new pop ponies. Everytime I go to walmart it seems like those pop ponies aren't being purchased. I hope they don't make anymore. They are just not my cup of tea. Those poppers are taking up valuable brushables space smh. On a brighter note I did manage to find a masked fluttershy (which I thought I had) so now I just needed masked twilight.

I don't care for the POP ponies... but the playset!  I love that playset!  If it wasn't nearly $30...

I understand the space they are filling in the market, I adore the playset but I am on the same boat of not particularly being a fan of the ponies. But I am a stick in the mud...for me MLP are traditional ponies with brushable manes and tails. Everything else is spin off merch - be they Funko vinyls, blind bags or POP characters.

Personally, I don't think the POP ponies have enough variety. They're just recolors. You don't really get to have much creativity.

I don't hate the Pop ponies, but I also don't like them.  I only got the Pinkie Pie playset one because the sweets shop model is pretty amazing.  I'd love to see more brushables in their place, though.

I really like them, but do agree they're taking up too much self space.  Those and Equestria girls... sorry I wish Hasbro would just make a variety of brushable ponies, that's my view.

Agreed.  I'm more sick of seeing Equestria Girls dolls than I am of the Pop ponies.  At least I can see how the Pop ponies would bring out the imagination in kids.  The dolls, on the other hand, are just lame.

I don't think either POP ponies or Equestria girls are pushing out brushables- I've noticed the same number regardless of what other line they are trying to tack on (which is to say, very few).

I think the EG ponies are an attempt to get into the Monster High market share, and the POP ponies ... lego?
G4 has always been very thin on ponies in my opinion...

When G4 first started it wasn't too bad. There was a somewhat nice variety of brushables. For some reason that has dwindled down to nothing. Hasbro is much too focused on Equestria Girls and those darn Pop Ponies to focus on anything else.

I'm not so sure about that, although there are definitely less FS size.

But really it has nothing to do with Hasbro- it is the STORE who decides what to carry, Hasbro just makes the product and the store buyer reps order what they want to stock their store with, how much, and how to display it.

So basically, if YOU want more brushable ponies- you should contact Target/Toysrus/Kmart (or whatever store you shop at, or all of them) and tell them that you would like to buy more ponies.  I happen to know personally that the stores pay a LOT of attention to customer requests/complaints that are put in writing...
