Daring Do Adventure Collection!

I haven't seen a post about this yet, so here it goes! A few days ago I got the Daring Do Adventure Collection in the mail from Barnes & Noble. I had pre-ordered it a few months back, since the price was marked down from $75 (I think) to $42. I'm not sure what the price is now, but that depends on where you buy it from.

The set comes with:
3 hardcover books
1 golden figure of Daring Do (seems to be the same blind back mold)
1 treasure chest to hold the books
1 "book" that's actually completely empty. It's sorta like those "secret compartment" books that can hold items. It's neat!

Does anyone else have this yet? I'm excited to read the books! Seems like they'll be a good way to pass the down time I have at work for a day or two.

The price is too much and basically for only two books and a case to put them in..and oh yeah the golden version of a blind bag.  I personally feel like they should have done the entire set that Twilight has, probably would have been more worth it.

I received mine last Friday & was kinda shy about posting about it, but I think it's a very nice set for the price tag! The books are hardcover, cloth bound (like old school library books) & have very nice full color covers & frontspieces. There is even screen printing throughout each one, when's the last time you saw that in a 200+ pg book? The stories are are obviously written for a younger crowd but are pretty well done & manage to sneak in some lovely vocabulary one wouldn't normally see for that age group. Considering these come w/ extras & a case, & that paperbacks go for $7-10 last time I checked, I think the $42 price tag is pretty fair.

Other than that, what I think tickled me the most is how hilariously inaccurate the artwork for 'Eternal Flower' is and how they list many other Daring Do titles at the beginning of each book, just like they do for long-running series!

I agree. Hardcover books aren't cheap, so the fact that you get three of them in a very nice box along with other goodies is definitely worth the $42 price tag.

Its very cute - although a little pricey for me. I do like that they have been so creative with the release - very cool.

I got it the other day (along with a couple others I ordered, since they were all discounted and free shipping). Actually only took 2 days for it to arrive. I really like it, and can't wait to start reading the books. I'm expecting the books will be good, I've enjoyed the other paperbacks that have come out, and it's the same author.

I haven't received it yet, but managed to get it for under $10 thanks to some credit card points and a dollars-off offer. Otherwise, no way was I gonna pay out of pocket $75 or even $30 for this, hardcover or not. It does seem like a very creative set overall, though! Looking forward to seeing it, and I'm such a sucker for nifty boxes, so hearing that one of the books is a kind of "secret" box, well-- HOW COOL!!
