I have been starting to work on my website again - and cataloging my collection - never ending process I know...

So here I am at the beginning again... Seeing someone's post got me going on My Pretty Pony.

So tell me all you know.

Here is something I know for sure that most people don't. There are 3 versions of My Pretty Pony!

Nope - I'm not talking about the yellowed pink version being the 3rd one. There are Two versions of the Brown My Pretty Pony.

Now I don't have too much info on the second version, I don't think I've seen another one though I've heard of others with them.- I did get her with the standard box

I also have a lovely Pink girl and a very yellowed pink version - I am looking for the pink girls hat still (if anyone has one for sale/trade hint, hint)

I know nothing more then the fact that she's fun to accessorize and a flat iron with dampened hair works wonders on her hair!

I would like to know how often her hat comes up... I'm looking for one for mine.

Heard that rumor too - but mine came with the box I pictured and the pictures of the advertisements with the butterscotch shows the plain one so I'm super curious if someone has the one with the white spot with the other box or if the white spot was just intermixed in with the other one.

I love that bandana mlp4me! The tan hat comes up ever once in a while (there is one on eBay right now) But it's hard to find it with the paper Romper Room Band - I still need the white hat.

Yup - that's right. However it was only the later part of the release with Butterscotch that came this way.

She is one of those ponies that I have all the versions of and I know she is the source of all things MLP, but I just cant bring myself to love her. Is that bad?

It's not bad, Cat. I can't love the 3.5s even though I love everything else MLP to bits.  I didn't remember there was the spotted version too, thanks for jogging my memory, Ivy!

I have 4 versions!

The pink one.  I agree the yellowing can be so thorough that it looks like a separate release, but it's not.  I had one that was in the process of yellowing. You can see how it's blotchy and not complete yet.   I have a really nice pink one with her accessories MIP (not for sale):

The hard to find MPP with Baby (Butterscotch).  This isn't my photo. I never got around to taking one. I saved this pic from an auction several years ago.  But it most definitely exists. I couldn't find any definitive differences between the "baby" and other Butterscotch releases, so I think they were just leftover stock.   The MPP does have that big white spot on the rumps.  I'm not 10% sure, but I think Gypsy found the advertisement for this one in a Sears or Penney's catalog.

And, I have TWO releases of the "regular" brown My Pretty Pony. The ponies themselves are the same as far as I can see. But one has a hat with a decal that goes all the way around and is a little different in design in that the "Hasbro Preschool" is straight across. It came with a leaflet and the felt saddle pattern.  The box has the number "900" and a "B" in the bottom left corner, and also on the back.

The other one I have has a hat decal that only covers the front.  Logo is a bit different in that the "Hasbro Preschool" is curved with the decal, and there is a circle before and after the text too.   It came with the leaflet, pattern and a third sheet about washing the hair in COOL water. I'm guessing it's the hot water that makes it so frizzy!   The box has a "900.001" and a "C" which probably means it was a later release than the first brown MPP. I don't know if there was a "900 A".

Well that's interesting- I did not in fact know there were more than one version.  I think my dad must have got me the one without Butterscotch, since I don't remember having her.

I never really loved her as a kid either I'm afraid. She was just too big for my little hands, and her hair felt so coarse.  It's crazy but I remember getting a Cindy doll at the same time. We made her the bad guy because she was so different than Barbie...

Not an urban myth -I've seen it at one of the Fairs but it is in Hasbro custody.

My spotted one has the hatband that goes all the way around the hat. But now I'm also confused more - I checked my box it is a 900 B box. Also my Hatband has Romper Room on it not Hasbro Preschool?

Oooo Lavender My Pretty Pony!! Looks like she has a white spotted rump too!!

You have permission to use my pics, except for the MPP with Baby because that's from an unknown auction and I don't have their permission. 

Oh. My. Gosh. I need that Romper Room hat!!!    The hatband going all the way around is consistent with the "900 B" box I have for it. It's the short band that I have with the "900.001 C" box.   So that's consistent.   Now I'm on the hunt for a Romper Room hat!

when i got  my pretty pony without the spot   she had the red blanket and the ribbbons.. lol
