Hi,

Has anyone been able to pick up either one of these DVDs yet? Are Rescue from Midnight Castle and Escape from Catrina the cut versions? Is the Escape from Catrina and other adventures the same as what's included in the complete series set?

I don't know if the Escape from Catrina dvd has the same exact episodes or not.  I have it, but I wouldn't know if they were cut or not.  I haven't seen them since they were on TV in the 80s.

Thanks Buttercreamdream. I'm trying to decide if I want Escape from Catrina and other adventures or the complete series (or both )  If the  episodes are exactly the same then I'll just get the complete series but if Catrina DVD has them uncut I might get both sets.

If Little Piece of Rainbow is missing from Rescue from Midnight Castle and The Good Old Days is missing from Escape from Catrina they've been cut.

Those aren't the only parts missing from the edited-for-time versions of the specials - the opening theme was cut from RaMC, and both specials are missing their ending themes.

I like how the two parters or more are on one disc.  I won't be able to get this set this week but hopefully next week.  It stinks, because Monster High Freaky Fusion comes out today too.

I didn't realize the theme was missing also in the edited versions.  Does anyone know if the complete series is an online only release? I checked a local store and they only had the  Catrina DVD and not the complete series.

I hope we find out soon what version of the specials is on the Catrina DVD.  I think it's nice also that the episodes with multiple parts are on one disc.

I have received mine yet so I can't be sure if the episodes are cut, but my fingers are crossed they are complete!

I have a copy of both so I can certainly check to see if they are uncut. I haven't seen Escape from Catrina uncut so I need to know what was cut so I can let y'all know. Was Little Piece of Rainbow the only thing cut from Rescue From Midnight Castle?

Edit: So I checked both DVDs for Rescue From Midnight Castle and they both don't have the Little Piece of Rainbow song. If I realized that Escape from Catrina had the episodes that were also on the complete series, I would have just bought the one and saved myself $10. Oh well!

It makes me glad I only bought the complete first series...and have the uncut versions of Rescue at Midnight Castle and Escape From Catrina (though I would like find an uncut Escape From Catrina without the video glitch at the beginning).  Seriously, they gutted all substance from Escape From Catrina when they cut it for syndication.  Good Before You Turned Bad Old Days explained Catrina and Rep's relationship and why they are the way they are.

Aside from these, what do the other episodes look like?  Are the to be continued... messages and previous episode montages still in tact?  Do we get the bumpers too?  Or is it the cuts we had for Disney?

I ordered mine from Amazon, paid for two day shipping to have it by today. Got an email this morning from them telling me that they were not able to ship it and now I will have to wait until October 15-17th. Ugh I might have to go to the store and just pick it up!

They do have the opening and ending credits for each episode, even the ones with multiple parts. I think the quality is nice, but I only watched part of Rescue From Midnight Castle and up to the Moochick's part.

Thanks for checking both sets Bowtie. The song Al-1701 mentioned was cut from Catrina. I was really hoping it would be the version with Little Piece of Rainbow left in.   

Are any physical stores carrying the complete series? I checked Walmart today and they only had Escape from Catrina and other adventures.
