I am a very picky collector.  There are not many flaws I am ok with as even small marks and slight haircuts bother me.  I am in the process of upgrading my US collection and it is taking a long time to find a perfect condition pony.  It will take me years to have a flaw free collection (if that is really even possible) and that is exciting because it means I get to collect for a loooong time!

Not picky at all. I sun fade, replace hair and fix chews. It's all good...

Sort of picky?  Unfixables like cancer and regrind do bug me, unless we're talking one tiny spot on the bottom of the belly or something.  Some ground in dirt and/or a trim to the hair isn't so bad, but big buzz cuts are out since I don't rehair.

I will say it depends on the pony sometimes though.  Of course if it's rare you sometimes make allowances, but sometimes it's also their personality- I've had a couple that just wore their flaws well, I guess, and I liked them more for it :)

In an ideal world I would be picky, and be able to afford ponies in mint condition. However, this is not an ideal world! So most of my ponies are in pretty rough condition. I'd rather buy more ponies by picking up ones for couple of quid with haircuts than have less ponies in better condition. I just love buying ponies!

Between having a flawed pony and NOT having that pony, I'll take the flawed pony!  :)  I'm not all that picky.

For rare ponies? Not that much. For common ponies? Absolutely.  :P

I guess so! I don't mind small haircuts or slight marks, rubs etc, or slightly faded hair (personally, I think pink hair that's partially faded can be really pretty, it kind of shimmers! At least in my experience, heh), but mostly I prefer my ponies to be mint or near-mint. I'm slightly less picky with rarer ponies, though (i.e. my Baby Lickety Split's hair has faded, but I *really* wanted her so I didn't mind so much :B).

I'm not that picky I think. I'd like to have ponies without major flaws like age spots, but if I can't find them at an affordable price, then I'm happy to have spotty ponies on my shelf.

No. As long as a pony has their head and all four limbs then they're welcome into my herd.

I am rather picky, and I like near mint ponies. That said, I can usually deal with pencil/crayon/marker marks on a pony's body, as long as they're not clown makeup on the pony's face or something. I also am usually okay with some age marks on certain ponies who are prone to them, since it's pretty hard to find them otherwise. And if someone wanted to give me a Tornado with faded hair, I would take him in a heartbeat since I think he looks better that way. ;)

But in general I like my ponies with uncut hair and unrubbed eyes and just nice overall.

It depends. On the one hand, I like my ponies in a very good to mint condition and if it's a common pony, I'd rather wait for one that looks good enough than rush and buy one that I need to updgrade later. On the other hand, I love thrift store finds and bargain lots. I will do my very best to restore icky ponies and I'm happy to keep any that I don't have yet, no matter what condition. I'm always more attached to ponies I've restored myself. :)

When I'm buying ponies individually from other collectors, eBay etc. I look for ones that don't have noticeable cancer or other spots, colour mismatch, major haircuts or super frizzy hair, chewmarks, or major paint rubs. Minor hair trim and small rubs/marks are okay and I've bought ponies with one or two small spots before if they're in a nice condition otherwise. The rarer the pony, the less picky I am, obviously. In the end it comes down to the balance between the overall condition and the price. But I don't mind slow paced collecting; I buy ponies to keep, not to act as placeholders.  ;)

I am not  a picky collector. I have ponies in my collection some other collectors may scoff at. I eventually get upgrades, but I am not super picky. Especially with G1 ponies. They are old and I understand it's hard to find them without flaws.
