Has anybody tried to condition/style/use water on the three new G4 babies from Target?  I collect loose and typically condition/style hair when I first open ponies, but haven't gotten up the nerve to do these girls yet because it looks like the ink in their hair will wash right out if I try (heck, the print on my Apple Bloom barely shows up in her purple streak to start with).  I'd really like to get them conditioned but am reluctant to try in case it "ruins" their hair.  I'd much prefer less-than-stylish hair over washing out one of their unique features.  Anyone have any experience with this yet?

I don't have any of these ponies yet, but judging by the only other toy I can think of with printed brushable hair, it'll likely wash out if you get them wet. Then again, pony hair can be dyed (right?) whereas the other toy I'm thinking of has hair that doesn't really take dye.

I actually had assumed it would wash out after a few washes as well. But I had not thought about it further than that. Hopefully its not the case and its much harder wearing than these things normally are - i.e. an actual colour fast dye and not a simple print.

I just bought scoot and apple bloom and took them out of their boxes. I brushed their hair but I didn't get them wet. Now I'm too paranoid too! How did we find out the animal print is simply dyed on their hair????

We don't know if it is just dyed on or not yet since ponies with animal print in their hair is a new thing. However there are a few MH dolls with animal print in their hair that is simply dye painted on and comes off if washed. It's mostly Toralei and the Werecat Twins with this kind of hair. I wish someone would test the fillies to find out if it is colorsafe or not for science.

Sorry to raise a potential alarm, lol!  I've been debating going and grabbing an extra to test this out on, but my nearest Target is about an hour away, so I have to plan trips to head that way ;)  If there still isn't a solid answer on this in about a week, I'll probably be able to try to nab someone to try it out on and just keep them as a bait if it ruins them :)  I'll let you guys know if I get to it before someone else does!

The print on my girls is a bit weak so I've been thinking about replacing one or two. If I can find a better one I'd test one unless someone beats me to it;)

That's where I'm at too... My Apple Bloom has terribly weak markings as it is, so if I can find a better one next time I'm out, I'm totally cool with experimenting, too.  Please do post in here if you get to it before I do, and I'll do the same ;)
