Hi! So Glad I found My Little Pony Arena =)

Hi,

I just joined My Little Pony Arena!  Lately I've been nostalgic about toys I used to play with and this, of course,  includes My Little Pony. I never liked the newer ones so I've been on eBay (slowly but surely) trying to buy all the G1 ponies I used to have (plus a few that I wanted but never got)!  Since the ponies I purchase are most likely around 25 - 30 years old, a lot of them need restoration when I buy them.  I love reading about hair tips (re-hairing and how to get the knots out) as well as how to clean a pony properly without messing up the paint or symbols.

As of right now, my collection is small.  I currently have the following ponies:  Glory, Masquerade, Windy, and Morning Glory.  I am waiting for Moondancer and Cherries Jubilee via snail mail. 

Some ponies I've been itching to get are Butterscotch (she was the first pony I ever got!), Princess Tiffany, Gingerbread,  Fifi, Sugarberry, baby Glory, baby Surprise, Sundance and Megan. I'm hoping to add these to my collection within the next few years or so.

Looking forward to learning lots from all of you here and making some My Little Pony friends.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I definitely feel the love! 

I have an update on my collection. I have won Princess Tiffany on eBay so I'm eagerly awaiting for her arrival via snail mail.  What a coincidence that that Arena Poll is to pick your favorite G1 Princess.  Since I've only had Tiffany, that's who I picked.   

@Diamond - how did you add the image of the MLP to your response? That's so cool!!!  And I love the moving "Woo hoo" smiley face as well.

@Sprintex - Ooooh...I hope I don't go on a shopping spree and wind up with over a 100 ponies.  I'm trying to de-clutter as it is.    I'm trying to keep my collection to only a few that I had as a kid and maybe a few more that I coveted but never wound up owning.

@ajmeier55 -Thank you! I will definitely check out your auction. 

@kiwkimlp - You know, Sugarberry is one of those ponies where I'm not 100% sure if I had or not. I know, it sounds silly.  I'm going through the pictures on My Little Wiki and I'm scratching my head going, "Wait, did I have that one? I think I did. Hmm...maybe I didn't..."  Either way, I agree. She is one gorgeous pony!

I'm not Diamond, but I'm going to answer anyway.  When you hit "reply" on a thread (forget quick reply, you'll only  see the editing tools with reply) you see a row of smileys and under them where there reads [more], you'll find a bunch of fun emoticons to spice up your messages!  There are also some "secret" ones you'll need to find out yourself. Have fun hunting those. Here's a to get you started.

Welcome to the Arena! This is how I started again too - just grabbing a couple that I'd always wanted or had and gave away or swapped for other toys.. and now I'm trying to find space for my 600+ collection!
(That's 20x my original collection!)

I hope for your sake the 'collect them all' bug doesn't grab hold of you - good luck, ponies are addictive!
