Doll Clothing: Challenge 4- RIBBON CHALLENGE!!

How it works:
I post a goal (i.e. Challenge 1: underthings) and you either make or acquire(buy/find/trade) a skirt (or more) for your doll/dollies.
If you don't need or aren't interested in that challenge you can skip it (or if you are busy/out of town/ join late) You can do challenges as you can/want and share pics. It's really laid-back, it's just a hub for sharing tips, patterns, inspiration and support and making solid goals for those of us who feel overwhelmed, need organizing or just enjoy social doll dressing

This is open to any kind of doll. Pullip, Barbie, Lalaloopsy, La Dee Das, Monster High, EAH, Tonner, BJDs , Blythe, baby dolls etc...

I've just gotten into the whole dolly thing and sewing isn't my greatest asset... So this seems like a wonderfull thing to partisipate in. My MHs and Novis don't have that much to wear and I have a gutt feeling that I'll have to do clothes by myself for my in-progress-bjd.

I don't know how much time I will have as I'm starting a new direction at uni but I have too many undressed dolls. mostly since the clothes don't fit.

oooooh, I was just thinking about this challenge and how much fun we had last time, and that we should do one again - you guys read my mind! ^^
I'd love to join in this time as well! last time I got overwhelmed with everything in the end, and I know I have half-done stuff which I started for that challenge still laying around unfinished!  maybe this would be a great opportunity to finally get them done. and I also have lots of new ideas (and lots of new dollies).

I would suggest we go for something easier for the first challenge, skirts and accessories may be nice for starters. underthings (well, ok, depending on what kind of underthings, of course), can be a little more tricky.

Loona, you could make a simple skirt/slip thing for the first challenge? I have a bunch of unfinished and not-started stuff from last time too. This time I won't be focusing on my MH girls (who now have tons of clothes).

Underthings can be bras, panties, knickers, chemises, tank tops, boxers/briefs, slips, petticoats, pantaloons/bloomers, garter belts, garters, stockings or socks. Or all of those A slip out of something stretchy or with a simple elastic waistband would be pretty easy. And bras are easier than you'd think if you use stretchy lace. Joanns even sells stretchy lace on their notions wall OR you could buy a pair of cheap undies with cute lace and butcher them for dolly things  . I will do this so I can demonstrate what I am talking about.
Also, feel free to acquire some by trading or picking up some at a store/online.

I have 4 dollies I need to clothe in these challenges. A headless Jem doll (long story), my vintage big doll (another long story), my Tonner 16" fashion doll (whose wig I am missing) and my EAH Raven. I actually have more than that buuuuut I need to be realistic.

you are right: maybe underthings, since there's a lot more that falls in it, offer more easier possibilities as well I was only thinking of skirts because I know there are some simple skirt patterns (basically cake-looking cutouts, or the slip-on types you mentioned) around. I'm sure though I wouldn't be heading for something easy as this, I usually make unnecessary complications to myself in everything I do
(just look at my skirt from the previous challenge: in the end I went with a detailed dress instead of a simple skirt -.- )

I would be mainly focusing on my Moxie Teenz dolls again, since even though they have since acquired some more wigs and fashion packs, they are still the ones with the least clothing options available.
since the last time I also started collecting MH and have a small collection, so they might also get new clothes. not that they don't have tons of clothes already, but I have some ideas from specific fabrics for specific dolls which I'd love to finally bring to life.
the last but not least, I have some frankendollies in the making (Moxie Girlz heads to be swapped on Liv bodies), and I want to make fitting clothes for them as well.
