Wow, the store that usually has a ton of elastic lace had nothing I liked so I got some non-stretchy kind for underthings for all my dollies!! Muahahahaha!!!

CHALLENGE 1: Underthings

Make that doll (or dolls) some underthings. These can be:
bras, panties/knickers, chemises, tank tops, boxers/briefs, slips, petticoats, pantaloons/bloomers, garter belts, garters, stockings or socks.

Here is a simple visual of sewing some simple lingerie for a doll.
http://dollmaker.nunodoll.com/girldoll/bra.html

Here's a good tutorial for making socks/stockings for any size doll:
http://bjdmagazine.com/2010/11/16/easy-to-make-fully-fashioned-stockings-for-your-bjd/

This is a slip pattern for an 18" doll but I feel that its really applicable to any size doll:

I am not finding any good tutorials for doll petticoats. I will keep hunting.... You can also add a ruffled edge to a skirt you don't like and turn it into a petticoat.

Here's something I've not seen before, some boy doll briefs pattern/tutorial:

Wow! those look like pretty easy to understand patterns. Thanks, Salli.
I can't wait to try out those.

Here's a MH thights pattern I found or maybe it was on the first thread...

wow Salli, that linkgerie link was very cute, thank you for sharing!
I think I'll go for lingerie and thighs. I know I want to do thighs for my own girls as well as for someone else, so maybe those will be the priority.

how long will a challenge last now? or particularly this one?

I'd love to join in and relearn how to sew. Socks should hopefully be an easy enough start for me.  ^.^

Thanks for the link, Ackryllis! Everyone please feel free to post any links you find :)

Loona, I figured we'd do a challenge every month. (Especially since I have more than one dollie to dress ;) )

yay :) I am actually happy about the longer working time per a challenge, partly because September is going to be hard for me, partly because I'd also love to complete more pieces, for more dollies.

Got EAH Cerise's done and my Tonner girl but the latter looks horrid, so I am redoing after I get the right elastic. Note: ribbon does not make a good bra strap around the torso. My big vintage doll already had hers done (and that's the only thing she's been wearing for 2 years) a while back. I finished panties for headless Jem and I am going to work some more today on it while I binge on a show.

This is my Dorothy doll I'm working on.  I found the doll at an indoor flea market and decided to create a line of dolls from fairy tales/literature.

I tried to create a chemise and underpants a little girl in 1939, which was the release of the movie, would be wearing. I tried to find material that resembled things that were available in that time period as well.

So surgery took over my life. It went well, but I am still having to spend a lot of down time. Luckily I think I can do the stockings for the dollies tomorrow and can hopefully get pix then. I have been hand sewing other clothes while I have been down though so yay!

Anyone else making any progress?

Oh and here's a printable robe and stocking pattern for MH and probably EAH

I might as well join this! Could be nice to have a prompt to sew something for some of my dollies.

Does it count that I have sewn a bunch of bloomers' for Ldoll? Some will stay with me as my little ones need them too, but most will go to other homes - or so I hope.
