I voted to stay in Nashville but Atlanta or Louisiana would be awesome, there's also Biloxi in Mississippi. On the beach, cheap hotels, there's casinos and things for the kids too!

The weekend after July 4th would usually work but I think the concern, at least for me, is it being on the actual holiday.  Due to where the 4th falls this year. Yes I have time off work, but also holiday traditions that we do every year.  I would think that would be an issue for most people.

As far as location, I vote for Midwest.  I know it is not fair to everyone but seems to allow for a wide area of people to attend.  I don't know how it can ever be fair to everyone.  More than one event seems like tons of work for the staff.  I will go anywhere if I can get there.  Typically will have to be within 15 hours drive time.  Not sure I could do much more.

Texas Pony Fair!
Yes :) lol one can Dream :)

Texas needs to host the MLP Fair :)

HOUSTON :)  LOL
I agree with this! :D  there totally should be an MLP Fair in Houston, or at least in Texas.
I wonder how far Fort Worth is from Houston :P

If the fair were to be in Texas, it should be hosted in a popular city...like Austin, San Antonio, or Houston..maybe Dallas?
Houston is  only 250 miles from FT Worth :) but any of the big cities in Texas will be cool :).Austin is awesome , San Antonio is super too :)
Dallas will do too :)

I voted for July 4th weekend - we get days off of work making it much easier to do the trip regardless of location :D
this year worked ok b/c it was close and we only had to take 2 days off

it was the july 4th weekend for several years in a row and that didn't make hotel prices jump

Agreed- July 4th weekend would mean I would be much more likely to be able to go, (as probably would most office workers and teachers) since we get July 4th off, and many offices even close early on July 3rd.

For reference, here's a list of the past MLP Fair locations:

2004 - Las Vegas, NV
2005 - Minneapolis, MN
2006 - San Francisco, CA
2007 - Memphis, TN
2008 - Providence, RI
2009 - Las Vegas, NV
2010 - Louisville, KY
2011 - Pawtucket, RI
2012 - Orlando, FL
2013 - Indianapolis, IN
2014 - Nashville, TN

It seems like Texas is getting the popular vote in this thread!      I think for fairness' sake, we should avoid Rhode Island, Nevada and Tennessee locations, as they have already hosted two Fairs each.

I'd like another Midwest location, but I just want somewhere tolerably driveable from Minnesota.  :P

I was just looking at a map thinking of good fair locations and I was looking at Kansas City.  If you want central, that is really right in the middle.  Seems like people from all over could make it there.  I have never been there and not sure what is around but I assume it has lots of attractions? Just a good location on a map at least.  I know there are lots of votes for Texas this year.  It's just so south I feel like it would limit attendance....  Although maybe not looking at this discussion :)

Texas Pony Fair!
Yes :) lol one can Dream :)
DING DING! Yes PLEASE!

NORTHEAST TEXAS perferably Addison!

I absolutley cant travel to places far away, too much responsibility at home and both jobs. Seriously... *rolls again agan second year in a row* there are PLENTY of very nice hotels in Addison/Dallas that we hold Nightmare Nights at that are WELL air conditioned, nice, affordable, and near shopping centers and a vegan chinese resturant! Its not so hot in June or July, August is the killer month with 100°F+ weather in the Northeast portion of the state. And theres no excuse with "im too pale" to visit Texas" Im white as can be, Norwegian and Irish decendant with very sensitive skin and I have only gotten sunburnt once in my life without sunscreen and im out in the heat all the time when my doctor has told me not to because of my condition. If you get bored of the Fair, theres PLENTY of places to eat, a cool Aquarium that is always cold inside, a Zoo, the Perot Museum, all kinds of attractions. Maybe one day.

Count me in as another Texas Pony Fair fan!  I'm in Austin, so traveling to Houston, Dallas, or San Antonio is pretty doable for me.  (Or it could just be in Austin!!)

If it's in Texas, I may actually get to go next year. The past few fairs have all been too far for me to get to.

On the idea of a smaller west coast fair......eh. While I would probably be able to attend, it makes me feel like the "official" fair will always stay in the east. I understand that the people who run the fair are on the east side, so it's easier for them. But if you're going to do a smaller west coast fair, why not just host the official one on the west coast every few years? Just my two cents.

I dont see how holding a fair in Texas would limit attendance. It may even be a better option for some people, compared to other places (like if it was held in Cali or New York, for example). A lot of people live in Texas and I wanna say nearly every month there is at least one convention happening in the state. Plus, IIRC Houston is the fourth most populated (or biggest) city in the US, so a good amount of people would certainly attend from the city alone (and nearby cities/areas) I would think.

I voted for July 4th weekend - we get days off of work making it much easier to do the trip regardless of location :D

But a problem with holding it on a holiday weekend is that people who work in retail or other-related jobs most likely won't be able to go or try to get those days off (since i would think around July 4th tend to be "black out" dates, along with other holidays).
Thank you so much for the adoptable, Corona! :D

I voted for Nashville again! As for dates I put the 10-12, because the 11-13 worked so well for us this year with the other conventions we go to. Charlotte or Asheville NC would be amazing too!
