The dogs yes.  The cats at this point no.  We tried several times and they always decide pouncing me or the dogs in the middle of the night is great fun!

For me its always been more that my cats allow me to sleep on "their" bed with them. XD Though that mostly started with my furbaby I had for just over 14 yrs Raven who quite simply owned everything and everyone and basically just kept us around for when he needed or wanted something.

Our puppy was kenneled every night for 2 years, so she can sleep in a kennel without complaining on trips etc.
but now she sleeps on my bed at night.

I love kitties that snuggle up to you in bed at night, or on lazy Sunday mornings. There's nothing better than peeling back a little bit of blanket to a "Mrr?" and a pair of big sleepy eyes  Cats are soft, and warm, and friendly, and they don't smell or harass you. Perfect sleeping companions. ^.^

I have two cats that pile on the bed if I sleep in, or my sister in the other room gets too restless.

When we'd had a cat, he wasn't even allowed to be in the house at night. Well, he was outdoor type anyway - sometimes he wouldn't come home for 3-4 days. He did have small "house" with flapping door in front of the house where he could sleep.
Oh yeah, we had an extra chair from dining table which was placed against the wall in the living room. This was the only piece of furniture on which he was allowed to. It was hilarious when once while sleeping, he had started to roll around and fell on the floor

Both our cats sleep on the bed, at the feet of their respectful owner. XD My wife and I had to train the younger one not to "shark" us... she liked to attack our feet under the covers. It's funny, though.. the young one doesn't sleep on top of the covers, ONLY under them, usually somewhere near our ankles. The older cat refuses to walk on the comforter. He needs to have it pulled back or sleeps on another smaller blanket on top of the comforter...

We have wierd cats.

When I was a kid my German Shepherd slept with me sometimes. Until I woke up one morning with a giant tick on my head.

I don't have a dog anymore but if I ever get one I don't think I'll do it again!

Yep, of course !  Two cats, and usually on top of me.

I would love to have my kitty sleep at the foot of my bed, but I'm actually severely allergic to her so I let her sleep in my bathroom at night instead so I don't wake up to an asthma attack. She's a sweetheart though and I'm sure she would be happy to sleep on top of the sheets with me if she got the chance! I don't see anything strange about it at all. Animals are cuddly and perfect sleep buddies.

Its great to see all the different stories here :) ive been really sick with bronchitis, tonsillitis and a sinus infection. My two boys have been taking turns sleeping next to me on and off during the day to keep watch. Its been nice as ive been dozing on and off, not really possible to get a diecent sleep with the breathing difficulties so its nice to have one of the fur babies to snuggle with and pat whilst im coherent lol.

The bf and I don't have a choice in the matter with our shorthair tabby, he's super snuggly and needy so he's always sleeping beside one of us. Our other cat prefers to sleep on the dresser by herself and I'm grateful (she's a long hair and I'd be doing laundry twice as much if she slept with us Dx).

Our three cats are all different. Charlie is incredibly hand-shy, despite having lived with us for six months now but she ALWAYS sleeps at the foot of the bed, and she doesn't move away even when she gets a leg-to-the-face in our sleep. Nymeria sleeps elsewhere, I actually don't think she has a specific spot- just wherever is coolest as she's all-black and struggles with our warm house. Megatron sleeps on the landing or someplace hidden (behind a curtain/in a shoe cupboard etc) until sunrise when she will move onto the bed. At that point my Boyfriend moves over to let her have the top part, just under the pillow, and suddenly I'm dangling off the other side and the cats have 1/3 of the bed....

Absolutely not in our home. I don't believe that cat hair mixes well with intimacy ;) Our cats aren't even allowed in our bedroom, it's a pet free zone, mainly because it's our bedroom and because the collection room is attached to it.

Luna enjoys sleeping on the couch and Shadow prefers to sleep under the couch.
