Did I really write that? Am I really going to do that with these two ponies that are notorious for burning?!
Yes, yes I am.
Anyway, I've had them in the window (in Seattle, WA where the sun isn't harsh) for about three days with only one side facing the sun. I can already see changes and they are getting lighter. I'm afraid to do much more though since I don't want to tempt the Pony Fates too much.
Cherry Treats, the side not exposed to the sun:

Here is the side that's been sun exposed for 3 days:

As of
6/14/2014 I have removed Cherry Treats from the window because most of the yellowing is gone. You can't see it in these next photos and it might be my imagination but I think a very very slight redness was starting to develop on her shoulder. I am happy with her currant color of cream, so much better than the yellowish tan. The white acrylic paint came off without too much trouble, I used rubbing alcohol and q-tips.
So I guess she was in the window around
10 days. I did one side than the next and then positioned her so that he backside was facing the window because the yellowing was stubborn in that area.

I think I've been favoring Gingerbread's right side. I checked some of my photos of how I have her positioned with other ponies I have sunfading and I'm pretty sure I just never flip her.
I stopped paying attention to which side I had facing the sun. She's been in the sun this whole time except for a few weeks to a month when I was moving across town. I had her laying down on a semi-colored pamphlet so that's where that orange color on the parts of her that touched the paper came from, I've switched to something white since I noticed that. The orange color mostly wiped off.
I'm not actually sure that I can tell a difference from the first set of photos to these or not. And of course these photos are with my cell phone and not my real camera. :p
