I know it would probably damage the pony more than the fading and I would never actually try it,  but it just made me curious if anyone has ever actually experimented with it?

If you have no plans to do it, then I am not sure why you asked to be honest. 

I think the option you stated (and most posters echoed) to put her away for now would be your best bet unless you want to make her a little box which has window tint on it, so you can still see her in all her un-faded glory.

There's plenty of UV protect/colour protect hair products out there. I'm sure some would help. *shrug*

I only asked out of curiosity.  :shrug: I have a very boring job so my mind wanders and I come up with strange ideas. Plus There have been a couple of good ideas im going to try
