My Little Pony 2-Pack Pint Glasses

A friend of mine got me these for Christmas and I admit I did squeal when I opened the gift.

They say not to put them in the dishwasher because of the images printed on them so I thought I would hand-wash them... They did look a little odd before I washed them and I thought well maybe that's a factory flaw. I've come to the conclusion that the whole set is a factory flaw. lol

They are blue. But the blue will wash off if you aren't ridiculously careful. I can't even use these because I would have to wash them and they would just get worse so I've put them in my window to display them and you can't see where the blue has come off. In my opinion they are not worthy of collectors.

Has anyone else gotten these and experienced this?

I've never seen the glasses. Although G1 ponies, the style looks like they were made within the last ten years. Or was this even a new-in-box gift? But of course they are worthy of collection!

I think they were made just last year, but I don't have any proof. I'll see if I can find more info.

It's a G4 Travel Cup. There is a G1 version also that uses one of the same images from the pint glasses, the one with Firefly.

I'm pretty sure she got this at Spencer's. So if you're into that and have a Spencer's nearby that's where I'd go.

They're pretty! Really the box is beautiful too. Shame about the blue coming off... still, I think they'd look cute on display filled with some ribbons or sparkly baubles!

I know, right? I have some Lord of the Rings pint glasses and mugs that are clear and are etched. They are the best things ever. I would jump for joy if they did that with pony glasses. I doubt they would though since bright colors is one of the things about ponies, but still.

The potential toxicity of these is a very valid point though. Safe for display only it seems.

I have seen these since they were released But that is kind of disappointing that the colour is so easily damaged

I had a set of tmnt glasses in the same style, painted green but still very see through like the blue of your glasses. They had the same issue, they're pretty unrecognizable as what they once were now. :/ i think it just has to do with this style of glass/the substance used to color it.

Oh I love them Ive been wanting to find these for a while now, thank you for the info, knowing what I now know, they are display worthy but I won't drink from them

I have that set still in the box. I'm glad to know I shouldn't use them. They are pretty on display though!
