What in the heck happened to this poor pony? :O

Alright so I went to a jumble sale yesterday in my local village - and I picked up a plastic shopping bag full of G3s for 50p!
I was happy to take them home and when I got home, I realised something was very wrong with one of the ponies I picked up. There was something very off about my new Secret Wish.

Soo this is what the original Secret Wish looks like..
(Personaly one of the prettiest G3s in my opinion.. )

All of her glitter is gone!
Also her pink hair has turned practically white..so I'm making the assumption she's been in the sun but, where has all her glitter gone?!

Has anyone else had an issue like this with the Divine Shine ponies?

She feels pretty much the same in terms of her softness, but she is also rather sticky which is unpleasant.

She has plasticizer leak..
Some kind of strange chemical reaction... Im guessing from being in the sun to long.. happened and her plasticzer  has started to come out.
one of my devine shine did this.. all of the glitter faded out and she got really sticky.

three things to do.. Give her a bath with something like dawn..breaks down the goo already out.
wipe her down with baby powder .. this will get rid of the sticky ness
keep her out of the sun... keep it from getting to bad. ( you might also wanna keep her away from the rest of your herd till all of it is leaked out.. its not catching but better safe than sorry..thankfully it dosent take long!)
unfortunately theres not much you can do other than just wait for it to all leak out.. then she will get a lil harder but will stop being sticky.

Yeah, it's basically plastic breakdown. No reason to keep her separate from your other ponies. It's a degenerative process common to the sparkly G3s. The hair fading is likely sun damage as you suspect.

I have heard somewhere on here about glitter coming off the G3s before if that helps so it might be normal! I think she looks cute though! Congrats on her!! I think shes unique! Random thought: I wonder if manic panic would work on pony hair to give them some color highlights.

Isn't this the same problem that G2 Holly something has (the transparent orange one... can't remember her US name, I got mine in Mexico and her name there is Pony Moderno). Hang on, I'll check strawberryreef...

I tried a relatively similar brand to MP once and it just faded to patches of brighter and lighter colour, it also dyed the ponies plastic because it leeched out from the roots.

The glitter doesnt come off the ponies - its actually inside the plastic mix. Unfortunately over time and exposure to the elements or conditions, the glitter dissolves within the plastic which causes the plastic to become cloudy. I actually kind of like the effect and while its not super common it does happen to a lot of the G3 Sparkles.

At least yours is fully out of glitter - all mine that have dissolved, it's just the head... I have 3 ponies with glittery bodies and non-glittery heads!

Yeah that's pretty common for these G3s. The one I have still has all her glitter but it pretty sticky.  So I'm hoping she doesn't lose her glitter.  I can live with the stickiness.
