Not the usual White Windy question...Now with pics!!

I've recently received a "White Windy" in a lot from France...she's very pale and has blue symbols instead of purple (they are VERY blue...not a hint of purple to either side) she arrived with a severe hack-job of her mane and tail. Question: should I have her rehaired with origional vintage pony hair, the way I would like to, or should I leave her as is and find her a new home withh her "lovely" 80's do?

I am sooooo not the best person to ask advice of on this one. Because for me white windy is just "badly faded regular windy"

However some people do believe in this mythical creature...so I would try selling her in her current condition first. Give her new owner the option of what they wish to do re leaving her as is or rehairing her. Unless its a common pony or an alternate rehair, I always think you are best to sell as is.

Ok, she's definately different from usual...she's HK, but when I took the washer off her tail, it's way different than what i'm used to! Typically, i've found HK washers to just be flat, circular...boring. Well this one has 2 prongs on the inner cut circle, where the tail pokes through. Has anyone else a White Windy with a weird washer? Everything else seems regular, though I don't have a regular Windy with which to compare...she has very little blue in her mane as well...only 4 and 5 plugs worth. Dunno if this is normal either. Her eyeliner and eyelashes are black, and she's VERY squishy. Greek pony squishy, for those of you familiar
I can't really make an arguement for or against her being faded...her body i would say is...she's an exceedingly pale lavender color. Her blue color in her symbols is so highly saturated, though...and there's no bleeding at all. Her symbols are very clean and defined.
I do have a white Bluebelle (98% white) and so i can compare them tomorrow in the daylight. I've heard them compared to each other in theory of fading, but I've not found a pic with both in a direct side by side. Does anyone know if any exist?

I don't think you can tell much from their washers.  I've found all sorts of different washers in ponies, large ones, small ones, thin, thick, two thick on one tail, no prongs, two prongs, three prongs.  I don't think there's any rhyme or reason to it.

If you would like her better re-haired, then my opinion is that you should do it if it will help you enjoy your pony more.  If you re-hair with original pony hair in the correct colors, I don't think you'd be decreasing her value.  I'm no expert at pricing though.

Like FarDreamer I have found lots of different style washers over the years. Obviously there is the most common version but there are quite a few random other ones out there.

Its not so much a colour comparison with Bluebelle; its a concept comparison. Same as with Seashell. Its an unstable pigment - that particular blue/red combination which just seems to have a problem.

I say rehair her! If you bought her for your novelty keep her! Windy is pretty common, and it won't be hard to find a baity replacement with nice hair! I love the pale faded look and blue hue of the "white" windys!

I wouldn't rehair her as I bet someone would love to buy her as is... you might be to ask in the nirvana forum as although she is not technically a nirvana I have seen pc's and sales for her over on that side
I last I saw sell on the arena was sold auction style and sold for around $65
