Thrift Store Goodies! (Before and After pictures!)

Hello! Yesterday I took a trip to my favorite thrift store in DFW which is luckily 3 mins away from home! This place never fails me, as they actually have a fair selection of toys in little 'grab bags'. They usually have these goody bags hanging on shelf all pre-sorted, most of the time they are mcdonalds Beanie Babies or other happy meal toys. Sometimes they have dolls too! Well, I got two bags of toys which I was very surprised to find! one was a MH bag and the other a My Little Pony bag! The MLP bag was $3 and the MH one was $6!

I got some cute little G3 mcdonalds ponies and a Pinkie Pie of unknown orgin to me! POOR Pinkie and Butterscotch! Toola Roola and Butterscotch were actually not too bad except the marker on the nose and the G3.5's were an easy wash!

The prize of this batch was a talking G4 Pinklestia! She still talks and lights up, she is just missing her crown and necklace.

Ok....so the Monster High gals didnt look too bad, in fact they were pretty close to being complete! They both had tons of glue or gel in their hair (a lot!). Both Skull Sores releases, Frankie is missing a shoe and her skirt and I think Cleo is missing a bracelet.

Tah-dah! After hours of conditioning, brushing, and a little straightening these girls' manes look so much better! Now to repaint their cutie marks and get that marker off of Rainbow's nose!

OMG and for Cleo I had to trim her hair, since her hair was sooo uneven (previous owner cut her hair). I decided to give her a rhinestone crystal on her cheek! I washed her hair, ugh there was so much gunk in it!

Thank you everyone!! ^ͺ^ I feel so great seeing the ponies all pampered and restored! The finished result makes me feel really great and I hope to inspire more people to rescue and restore more ponies! Here is a better picture of Butterscotch and Pinkie:

I soaked their manes in deep conditioner for a whole day before trying to straighten the manes. I used macadamia nut creme and herbal essences hydralicious conditioner!

Also, since you said you weren't sure where the little jointed-leg Pinkie Pie came from - she was a keychain! Someone's broken off the little plastic 'loop' that should have been on her back, that's why there seems to be some excess plastic at her seam. I had several of these keychains, I think they came in Wysteria and Pinkie Pie for sure? Maybe some others!

Wow!! I'm surprised by how well the McDonald's ponies cleaned up. Their hair looks beautiful! Fantastic work.

Did you straighten it with a flat iron or did you just brush it out?
