What is your favorite Studio Ghibli Film?

Thanks to a new game Ni No Kuni The Wrath of the White Witch, Hayao Miyazaki's announcement of his retirement, and his final film coming to theaters last Friday I am just thinking how much I love his films.  I have almost every movie and my favorite thing is when my friend says I've never seen that movie so we sit down and watch it.  My fiance has even picked out his favorite which is Ponyo, but he loves it every time Ponyo exclaims she wants ham. 

The magical and beautiful worlds created by Miyazaki and his studio are an inspiration to me and when I'm in a bad mood they are just perfect for calming me down with either a funny line or a good cry.  Stories about nature or war with a little splash of whimsical is all I need to escape from the real world for an hour or two. 

So tell me which film is your favorite or what Studio Ghibli means to you.

Man, that is a very tough question. I'm going to have to think a while before I can cast my vote. There are only a couple I haven't seen - though I did see The Wind Rises last week.

^ Definitely Kiki.  I've been watching that movie since I was a toddler, and it's one of my favorites of all time!

Mononoke Hime is one of my favorite movies of all time. If it wasn't for the lackluster male protagonist I'd say it's flawless (not that I don't like Ashitaka, I just think he's the weakest part of the movie). I think it's an amazing multi-layered piece of art.

Princess Mononoke.  It is one of my favorite movies ever, not just Ghibli.  It really connected with me spiritually as well as emotionally.  An absolutely gorgeous film.

Okay, I don't know if it's really my favorite favorite, as I like so many of these movies and they're all so diverse, but I voted for Pom Poko. I have a soft spot for it, in all it's ridiculousness. Plus I've always like kind of the "nature trying to find a way when faced with human encroachment" stories.

Spirited Away. It was the first Studio Ghibli film that I had ever seen and I thought it was just absolutely breathtakingly beautiful as well as having a really good plot and a good message to take away from it.

Mononoke Hime is one of my all time fave movies. But there are so many Ghibli films that I love, Howls moving castle, Totoro, The cat returns, Arrietty etc.

Definitely has to be Whisper of the Heart for me I adore everything about it. The music is breathtaking (particularly the music that accompanies the rooftop scene - that's actually what made me want to watch the film, long story x'D), the plot is wonderful and.. I love cats. :p I also love the pseudo-sequel, The Cat Returns.

I love most of the Ghibli films I've seen, though! Except Only Yesterday. No offense to any fans of that film, it just left me cold, if that makes sense ;;.

I voted for Kiki's Delivery Service, but I think I've enjoyed every Hayao Miyazaki movie I've seen. I know it's pre-Ghibli, but Panda! Go Panda! was cute as well. I really want to see The Wind Rises.

I love nearly all of them sooo much!  My favorites are Princess Mononoke and, the one I just find myself re-watching all the time, Whisper of the Heart

I need to see Whisper of the Heart.  That is one of the ones I really want to see.

Kiki's Delivery Service. I just love Jiji ! Kiki and the whole story is really sweet, as well.

Then followed by Cat Returns and Arrietty. I haven't seen the super popular ones - like Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle. The plots just don't grab me.
