No 3rd Favorites Collection? Is the TRU collector series over?

In fact, aren't all the toys on this table slated to be TRU exclusives? Idk I may be imagining that.

Man, I'm not trying to sound like a jerk but these newer ponies have some weird markings. I'll admit I used to draw designs on my toys as a kid to make them cooler, and I know these and those rainbow ponies kinda remind me of that. Still that's what it looks like, a child going sticker happy on them. I think if I was a ki and that was te case I would rather they come with little decals or something, so I coul decorate them myself.

Yeah, unless they weren't shown at the toy fair, those punk ponies were on the TRU exclusive table. I know a lot of people were disappointed, but well, it is what it is.

That's what I think too... I hope not, but.... what can you do? The big, talking, light up Royal ponies started being TRU exclusives with the white Celestia.. they try to focus on what the fans want.... to an extent. With the first box, everyone was flipping out. "Oh my gosh, DJ Pon-3, Nightmare Moon!!!" That was literally all that anyone wanted from those boxes. Luckily for me, I hadn't gotten a Pinkie or Rainbow Dash yet, so I enjoyed all the ponies in the box, but for the most part? The others were just filler. It was pretty much the same for last year's; the villain and uber-background pony had people in fits, and then they just sort of "meh"-d the rest.... In my case, I already had Cadence and Shining, and since this new Cadence had a crazy horrific new face mold, I scavenged her wings to make a more accurately sized Princess Twilight, then used the SA in a trade. I liked the others though, because they were still new ponies and I love fillies. But if those goth/KISS ponies are this year's box... which I believe, since the lingerie Chrysalis is there, I'm going to be sad and not getting this year's box. They're all repeats, but really weird looking ones.

Wow if that's really the new favorites set... that could not be more disappointing mane 6 and Celestia... it almost feels so cruel that it has to be a joke. Would anyone even buy that set, hopefully it got really negative feedback and they are re-thinking, why can't they make a poll and ask kids and bronies and collectors what characters they want to see....

Yeah, I assumed Pony Mania is taking the place of Collector Series too. They usually do one special brushable, one talking size, and the seven pack of Favourites.

Talking Queen Chrysalis fills the second category, and the Princess Celestia + main five (no AJ) may be a faves set. Then the special brushable, Photo Finish with accurate hair/clothes/accessories, is packaged with her EQG doll. Then we get two bonus dolls!

Yikes that is awful they give us all repeats.. I could not be more disappointed, I will for sure not buy the set, for one more mane 6 for two they are ugly as sin.

The Chrysalis is for sure the new talking pony, I don't think I'm interested her extra weird designs are weird and even if she was just a regular version I think I would rather wait for a funko version.

I am crossing my fingers that Pony Mania is going to be another line like Pony Friends Forever, and we still get collectors? Maybe? Please?

Yeah, it was confirmed on one of the videos that the Pony Mania set were this year's TRU exclusives. That doesnt mean TRU will not end up carrying other exclusive items. But I dont think there is going to be any kind of "collectors" set this year. Being shown at Toy Fair pretty much means these are the main line for them and the focus. I am more disappointed by the lack of a cool single pony release - like Zecora. Instead there is obviously going to be EQG exclusives instead.

I dont feel like their target market for this line. And to be honest, I have never felt like their target market in the "collectors" sets right from the start. I think the term "collectors" is possibly wrong but putting "brony" on the box may ensure it does not appeal to all younger audiences. I would happily skip all the drama attached to Miss Muffin and even Vinyl Scratch. If they want to appeal to "us" [thats not everyone here of course] I think a set featuring a couple of G1 or G3 inspired characters would probably have been much more popular than the 2 "collectors" sets they have already offered.

ya, you're right.  just thinking that they did put "collector" on the label, so if it didn't sell they might rethink it.

I am not sure what to think of those ponies either. I look at them time to time and still cant get myself to like them. I guess I can look at it this year. It will be more money in my checking account going into my savings account. And you cant go wrong with that.
