What sort of gifts would you like to recieve from a penpal?

I am planning on sending my Canadian penpal some small gifts from England in a package next week. If a far away friend were to send you some small presents, what sort of things would you like to receive?

Things to remind me of my friend sending the packages would be especially nice, or things that had come up in previous conversations/emails/letters to remind me that my friend cares enough to remember what I like.
Also anything exclusive from wherever my friend lived would be fun, from postcards to foodstuffs to toys and keepsakes. xD

Small things like stickers are always awesome, or postcards   If its a small package, maybe treats specific to your area

If I had a foreign pen pal it would be cool to get things from their country that don't exist in my country, cool things showing what their culture is like.

I had a Japanese penpal, & I was thrilled to get fashion magazines, candy and makeup from her country!

Definitely food items that they don't have there! And souvenirs like keychains, postcards, etc.

Like a lot of other people have said already, things specific from your area that she would be unable to get would probably be nice, such as post cards or little treats. I had a pen pal once and we would also trade coins and small bills because our places had such different currency from each other

I have a friend with a French penpal.  They send each other books!  My friend sends books in English and her penpal sends books in French.  It is a lot of fun for them, since they get to share their favorite books with each other.  The Catcher in the Rye just arrived in France last week
