Embarrassing pony moments!

Thought my G3 Chocolate Delight was developing some tail rust, so went to pop her head off and clean her out (one of the later G3s with no glue), but her plastic was so thin and brittle that her neck ring tore, leaving her beheaded, and none of the glues I have seem to be holding her together!

Coming back to add, I just spent four hours trying to find an Octavia fansong I heard when my friend was playing Everfree Radio on the weekend because it got stuck in my head. Turns out of was just a modified cover of a really well known one. 

If you take a nail file or some sandpaper to the neck where you want to glue the ponies together (do both on the body part and neck part. It'll rough up the plastic so that the head will attach really securely!

Finding out a pony you thought for years had fading pink hair and therefor passed up a lot of times because you wanted one with nice pink hair actually was supposed to have white hair all along... 

It goes the other way, too! So proud of how white my pony's hair was, only to find out it's supposed to be PINK! Lol

Probably not buying as many not-mane 6 brushables when they were still popular. I was a brony in my defense and bronies were livid about any other pony getting toy attention!

Luckily, I eventually found Cupcake and Snowcatcher.

Count me in! And also I cut my finger with the exacto knife so bad I had to be rushed to the hospital and get stitches. The scar will forever remind me of that horrible custom.

When I first started collecting I really wanted g1 minty and for some reason I got it into my head she was rare or htf. Well she came up on auction and I won her for £21 (that's about 34USD)!!!

well i am just now getting into restorations and rehairing and things.. so no good stories there YET...
but my most embarassing moment was the other day at the coffee shop. I was reading and interview with one of the FIM character designers about where some of the inspirations come from and they mentioned the inspiration for a specific pair of ponies..
Big and loud for the whole shop to hear i proceeded to shout "I KNEW IT!" then realize that EVERYONE was staring at me.
i shut my lap top and left really fast.

Using the boiling water method of straightening out frizzy pony hair and only managing to make it significantly worse.
I'm still not sure how the heck I  managed that one....
Turned out to be quite fixable still luckily. (Making my panicky HEEEELP post to the arena my second embarrassment. >> Luckily everyone was very kind to me.)

I've since switched to the hair straightener method and have not gone back.
Oddly, that one is generally seen as much more risky, but I've yet to have any accidents with that one.

There was also that one time I found 100+ g1s at the thrift store all at once.  I was bounding around the store; I was so excited.  That was a little embarrassing. 

I would bound around the store, too, if I found that many. That would be awesome.

My most embarrassing thing I have ever did was cut my Twilight's hair. AND SHE HAD A FORELOCK. I also somehow did it again with eqg i had no idea what I was even thinking!!

When I first started collecting 2 years ago, I would only buy the blind bag ponies. I was unaware that there was codes, so when I saw a box at WalMart I was awkwardly standing there for 15+ minutes trying to feel/see the colors of the ponies though the small hole on the top of each bag. The worst part was, there was an older lady working there who was restocking things next to me and I'm sure she thought I was crazy! xD

Another smaller stupid moment was one day at Target I saw same FS ponies. Like I said just getting into collecting, I ended up buying Fluttershy and I swear that I picked up Applejack and put her back…wanna punch myself every time I think about it! xD

I made a high pitched in-human sound when I found a bag of ponies at Goodwill and bounced up and down in a circle. Little kids were staring at me. The bad part is I did the same thing when I found a pony cake pan a month before.

I think when you become a collector you kinda have to admit you have no shame.
