Whats the best or worst surprise you have received in a pony lot?

I don't do much lot purchasing online, but years ago I did win a lot on Ebay for a decent price. The seller had listed another lot at the same time and had the twin to one of the ponies in MY lot in the other lot. I didn't need any of the other ponies in that other lot, so I didn't bid on it myself and it ended up not selling. After I won my lot I messaged the seller to ask if I could possibly purchase the twin to the pony I'd won. I explained they were a pair and not doubles of the same pony.

I got no response whatsoever from the seller, so I thought I'd over-stepped my bounds in asking about it. It was ok though, I had only bought the one lot so they were under no obligation to sell me one pony from another lot.

ANYWAY, when my box arrived from the seller, they had included BOTH lots! They had given me their other lot for free (including the twin that I had wanted)!! It was so super nice and very unexpected. ^-^

Best was probably the chance I took on a lot on eBay with a blurry pic - there was a lovely condition SS Twilight in the back for $12 with bright pink hair.

As the title suggests!!

Have you bought a job lot of ponies off Ebay / Etsy / Craigslist....etc and when you got them found an  unexpected pony / item in there? It could be that the picture was blurred or the ponies were photographed in a huge heap.

The reason I ask is that I have taken a gamble on a box of ponies and you could only see the top layer, I am hoping there might be a buried treasure!

My sister once bought a lot where the picture was horribly blurred and in the lot was a princess variant!

Me on the other hand have an odd example to show. Years ago I bought a pony lot and in the bottom of the box was this horrible item......................

  I still have it!!!!!!! If I was a child getting one of those party bag would have given me nightmares!!!

The best surprise I got in a pony lot was Macau Lemondrop in a lot that cost me £12

I actually got a Baby Sugarberry in NM condition in a mixed box my mom bought at a yard sale.

For me that would be just this past year that I finally got a call back from a person whom we ran into at the flea market who had a bunch of pony stuff. inside the gen 1 castle carrying case was a flutter with wings! That was awesome, and I also got a dream castle missing parts but in really good shape, and I also got some pony wear stuff too.

Worst surprise - a.... nasty looking comic book I have no idea why that was in the lot. Wasn't pony, never heard of it, and it was kinda porn-ish

I won a lot from the UK once with a Princess moondust variant. Her medallion wasn't photographed so you couldn't even tell! It was a super surprise!

Worst?  A tiny dead toad about the size of a nickle. The seller was sooo upset that it was in there. It didn't bother me too much as the ponies were wrapped and the box had lots of paper in it. It was an honest mistake so I wouldn't accept the partial refund she offered.

Best has been a Noteworthy BB with Cadance's cutie mark. Not the most fascinating of prototypes, but still unexpected. Worst was probably getting a G3 Ponyville Pinkie Pie figure in with the bunch... not that she looked awful, but if I let one in, then there might have needed to be more in the future :O

I think it might've been my first Nirvana, an Italy sunbeam, I bought the little lot as Sunbeam completed the first lot of unicorns, I was disappointed to see wonky eyes and funny symbol til I turned her over . I also recall a nz seller I got a Greek Starshine off threw in the backcard and ribbon/brush.
the most annoying was a pile I bid on from the UK, for the winger Skydancer, it ended up going high because there was a BB Slugger w hat in there too. When t6he lot arrived, Skydancer had a wing missing but they did add a 'bonus' pony, a seven tales Starlight that wasn't mentioned in the auction.

i grabbed a bunch of ponies at the markets without looking at them cos.......well .......they were vintage, better going to a collector huh and this is one of them

90% of that in embedded in the vinyl, classic pony smooze aka pin dot mold. after boiling in oxy clean only half of it came out

i also bought what was advertised as a uk gusty was a terrible deflock and the head fell off when i pulled it out of the package   

i also bought a big bulk lot of vintage toys for $20 pickup only (just walking distance from my house) and in there were the most minty TE and sosoft ponies i have ever seen......under all the dirt

Well, the weirdest thing I got was someone included a bunch of vegan pamphlets.

Maybe they were afraid I was going to eat the ponies?

The best was a couple of Italians that I didn't already have that, from the auction picture, looked like their regular counterparts

Best surprises?
I once won a lot of ponies with Macau Jenny - and to my surprise, the rest of the CP ponies there were from Macau as well, actually all ponies in the lot were Nirvanas and I got a great deal on it.
I also bid on a lot of baity ponies where I spotted a Confetti and bid on it. She had weird symbols, so I assumed that her glitter had fell off and only left stains... Wrong! It was a NC variant of the girl, pristine white, with silky hair, she just needed a wash to get off the dust
I also once won a lot of G2 ponies that I haven't got yet and the seller added two more G2's because they found them after the auction ended and threw them in as an extra - it was one of the Romantic couples, still working I've sold them because I already had them too, working, but it was a very nice and sweet gesture.
And now I'm waiting for a lot to get to me - though I know what will be in it, it's a surprise I won it Petites with a playset, complete G2's, including Princess Silver Swirl, NC Starflower, Painting Time, few other ponies, lot's of accessories and a takara fakie And all that costed me $30 shipping included. I can't wait to get the lot and see what I missed in the auction pictures.

Haven't bought lots yet, but I consider the one full lot of ponies I received my most awesome surprise in itself.
Some friends picked it up for me as a gift from a flea market along with a giant G3 castle playset! Just because they knew I'd like it. 

My worst surprise kind of did come in that lot though. There was a Rarity in the lot who's tail basically consisted of near dreadlocks. I thought at first that it was just messy due to play and regular dirt, until I got a whiff of the scent she carried. Turned out the dreadlocks were due to the hair being absolutely drenched in mouse pee, which had since dried.
Took me days to get the smell out. I managed however and she's now squeaky clean and the queen of the castle, but gods the smell was horrible.

Hm. my best durprise was the following :

I bought a G1 Show Stable at ebay.de, mostly because of the cute MLP hair-thingies that were included. Since the seller lived pretty much near us, I asked her if I can come and pick up the playset to save on shipping. She said yes and included the message that she might have some ponies in the basement or something and that I could check them out when picking up the stuff. I was like OMG YAY When we arrived, she and her sister had a whole lot of stuff for me to check : MLP storytapes, accessories, the G1 Schoolhouse and a box of G1 ponies <3 I clearly remember them saying that there had to be around 20 ponies in that box to the max.

btw, this was the box as I got them and before unpacking, I can still feel the joy when looking at this <3 :

and where is the surprise? Well, it wasnt the fact that they had ponies (that was totally great too!!), it was the fact that "around 20 ponies" just wasnt right! When I unpacked the lot, I got this herd with 71 members  :

Well and my worst surprise... probably that Star Hopper I got... when I cleaned him suddenly itty bitty tiny insects crawled over my hands o.o ... he had an insects nest under the belly right between the legs *dies*    Gah soooo gross!!!!
