  I just saw Posey Rose at 295$ US over on eBay, not like MoC or anything, just a regular, run-of-the-mill used pony.  I know I can't post the link, but if you search LOT #3 UNIQUE PONY LONG FLEXABLE LEGS, you'll find her.  She's OBO, so I'm vaguely tempted to offer five bucks...

Anyone else see any over-the-top auctions lately?

I see auctions like these all the time, it drives me nuts!  I think people from outside the community just instantly think all MLP are worth outrageous amounts of money.  I've seen an average peachy with a bad hair cut at an antique store for $50...

I was talking to a friend last night about that, actually! Just because something is from the 80s, doesn't mean it's worth an arm and a leg. I like how all G1s are listed as rare and hard to find. ><

My most wtf one will always be that one horribly bleach-spotted Medley someone was asking $20 for. The price isn't as high, but lord, that pony was in such bad condition it wasn't even funny.

The joy of ebay...any one can ask any price they like for anything at all. Even if its a crazy price The $100,000 [eventually reduced to $10,000] Sundance still wins for me No harm in asking I suppose, as long as they never expect to get that money

Unfortunately you get sellers who simply dont do their research and just leap to conclude things are rare and hard to find. It probably happens across all collecting communities.

Here our Value Village sells ONE pony for $5! And it doesn't matter what it looks like...matted, stained, smeared in poo...$5. I asked one of the workers if they were out of their minds and she said it was "management"...80's toys are always more expensive. *headdesk*

I've noticed that too! And that's a at Thrift Stores in general! Hence why I quit looking there. It's like this is a TOY, not a piece of china! LOL

At my local Goodwill if you ask an employee about the strange prices on all the items for sale they always blame the *insert racist comment here* guys who work in the back. :/

Wow, really? That's awful. I've not seen a true G1 in Goodwill yet (seen and bought the 2007 Blossom-not as pretty imo), but G3s are nearly always priced $1.50-2 here. I have seen less than 10 in the last 4 years though.

Lucky me. I'm friends with the wares associate in the back! She saves ponies for me when they come in. My last bag of G1s (like 5 or 6 G1s and a G3) was only 3 bucks.
