Much of my herd is restored... but I haven't been taking a lot of before pics these last few years because of the quantity(and I just forget)...

I always love seeing restores but somehow I always forget to take "before" pics. Have plenty "after" pics though lol
Great job everyone!

Good job! It's always a great feeling when a pony becomes pretty again. I love the idea of a restoration thread! It's amazing what some of you guys can do.

Oh, I am *loving* this thread!! I've got so many ponies who need restoration, but beyond the basics (scrub and condition), I'm nervous about attempting it. This is great inspiration!
Pony hugs!

This is how I cleaned my So Softs (you can see the other 3 I've done in my sig thread). Can't guarantee it will work for you, but I used this method for all 4 of mine:

I sprayed them with Arm & Hammer Pet Stain & Odour Remover (it has OxyClean in it) and gently massaged it in to the flocking with an old toothbrush. Then let sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing. Did this twice for each. Then shampooed their bodies, manes and tails. Rinsed. Then slathered on conditioner on their bodies, manes and tails. Waited a few minutes before combing the conditioner through their manes and tails, then left it on their bodies and hair for about 10 more minutes. Then rinsed and styled their hair.

I used the Arm & Hammer Pet Stain & Odour Remover because we had it and I was too lazy to go to the store just for OxyClean LOL But you may get the same results with just OxyClean.

The frustrating thing is, I have used oxyclean on my so softs without such lovely results, and have even had flocking loss occur. You're twilight still looks so so plush!

Perhaps a bit more persistence is required.

Thank you so much for sharing!

Yeah, you have to be really gentle with them - that's why I used the toothbrush, I knew it would be gentler than trying to massage it in with my fingers. I think it helped that they weren't my favorites as a kid so weren't played with as often, so their flocking was still pretty plushy, just dirty.

My Twilight does have areas on her NDS that are more dirty looking - I think the glue in sports has yellowed and is showing through, and nothing you can do about that. Could that be the issue with yours?

Here are a few of my recent coolbreeze restores.
Original wings were taken from the pink haired coolbreeze and applied to the one with long original uncut hair to make a perfect coolbreeze! :)  I Love restoring wingers!

I know that feeling!  All you guys who do rehairing are amasing!  That's my next step, I think.  Still far far too nervous to try touch-up paint.

Shadowlark, I'm impressed with how white you can get your ponies!  I have a Moondancer who needs whitening, but I'm terrified of fading her hair.  I know covering the hair with foil is supposed to help.  Is that all you did?

Yup! Just make sure every little bit is covered, and you have to cover her symbols as well. I didn't worry about covering her symbols since they were pretty much gone anyway, but if yours has good symbols you'll need to cover them.

Try Mr Clean Magic Eraser first though - a lot of my white ones weren't sunfaded at all, just used magic eraser on them. :)
