2014 Minnesota Pony Meet - August 23rd - get ready!

I promise it's a coincidence that I'm flying in! I was planning since at least last year to come to MN for the Faire and the Fair and it just *happened* to fall on the weekend of the Pony Meet, and just also happens to be held at my sisters house, where I'll be staying. What luck!

I think I'm bringing my shrimp dip and crackers.

I'll have a few brag ponies, my trade ponies (mostly G1s and G3s) and a few non-pony items I've run across.  Since it sounds like there will be kids I'll probably have a "please take this away" box if I can find room.

It will be me and my two kids coming.  They are busy pricing their ponies for our for-sale table   And making their wishlists

We are doing a gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free trial for a few weeks.  I'm drooling reading the yummy things everyone is bringing.  I hope we don't seem like party poopers, but I think the easiest thing for us might be for us to just bring our own lunches and not participate in the potluck part (even though everything sounds super good!!).  I hope that's ok?

We are planning to bring $10 gift bags for the gift exchange.  We had fun buying fun things to go in them!!

We are getting excited!  We will bring a table to set our for-sale items on.  I've been busy sewing pony ears/unicorns on headbands.  If anyone is interested in a specific pony/color let me know.

(As long as we are on the topic of pets, I should note that my kids are deathly afraid of dogs.  If dogs will be out and about, just let me know so we can hang out in an area where they aren't going to be.)

I had to hunt for this, but I knew it was somewhere! If you have time, I would love to get my nephew a pair of Fluttershy ears. How much do you charge? I just need to budget a little. If they aren't too much, I might also be interested in a pair of ears. How big is the horn? I have a horn that I've worn in the past, but it's annoying and heavy... maybe just a pair of pink ears? Do you have Rainbow Dash ears in your box already? I think I might have just started Christmas shopping!

PonyParty, if I bring a main course (I'm starting to think I will, I just need to plug a crock pot in) it will be hamburger, vegetable soup, veggies and cheese. You put the whole thing over frito chips- if you bring your own chips or put it over something else (or eat it on it's own) I think it's pretty safe. I can leave the cheese out for sprinkling on later. I'm not sure if the soup will be 100% what you need, but I think it will be pretty close. It's just canned soup from the store. I haven't got a good enough garden to make my own veggie soup.... yet!

I'm going to be snacking on the fruits as I don't eat beef or pork really though since i'll be really close I might decide I want to do a grilled chicken alternative

MoondancerMilkyWay, I don't think I can do this recipe with chicken. I was pondering it, but I think that the beef is important- makes it greasy enough! LOL!

usually when I do tacos or burgers I opt for a turkey burger or chicken....don't fret none about me! I'm sure there will be more than enough to satisfy my food needs!

anyway. i usually opt for other things in my dishes than beef, but they do tend to get dry and sometimes taste different than I think they should.

getting excited. i still gotta pick up a gift for the 10$ swap thing, and what other gift type activities are we doing?

we had talked before about offering commissions etc for the prize table. any more details about that?
what we need to do etc?

also as far as 10$ swap. any generations people are totally against, or is it a free for all?
if it's something new, i'll be including a gift receipt.
