Yep- totally real!  Many of the plants and fungi in Skyrim are real too.  I can't believe how much detail they put into that game.  Even the glowing mushrooms are based on (though not exactly like) real mushrooms:

I also love Stellar's Jay.  They are so pretty- but I've never seen one in the wild.  We used to see indigo buntings at our house in the country all the time though.  They are as pretty and as blue as the picture in real life and they have such interesting behaviors so they are fun to watch.

I love the clothes on these fairies, especially the geisha fairies!  This leads me to the question- if you list fairy or sprite or some other winged thing that may wear clothes would you prefer your partner to:

A. Paint the clothes on
B. Sew clothes for the custom
C. Sculpt clothes on
or a combination of all of these?

Heh, the reason I know of the steller's jay is I came across them in Yosemite on my camping trips, they're kinda considered a pest there, they are very bold and will steal your food.  On my last trip we had one that commonly hung out in the trees above our site It sure was pretty though...

For clothes, I don't mind either of the options, I like them all.  I generally lean towards sculpting myself, though I've sewn outfits before too.

my list doesn't specifically have stuff with clothes, but if you make a custom that's going to wear clothes ...

I normally go for sculpted clothes
but I do own a couple fabulous customs that use real fabric (and other bits)

I definitely prefer proper brushable hair for my ponies as well (such as DH or RD)

As far as wing construction, I'm up for anything. If you created a design for me that included clothes whatever technique you're most comfortable with is cool (Or, if you wanted to try something completely new, that's cool, too.)

Everything blue in Brighteyes' post is my favorite shade of blue, and I especially love the Kerner Blue butterfly. That's one of my faves.

I love brushable hair for properly sized ponies. Fluffy yarn hair is also nice but I don't like the thin stringy look. And I don't really care for sculpted hair myself, at least not for a mane. Forelock, fetlocks, other body/facial hair all can be whatever you please but I'd really like the mane (if your design retains one) to be soft and pettable.
