Is the Mail really slow in the US right now

Hi, Everyone

I sent a package to someone (not here at the Arena) and they were supposed to get it today. However, the priority tracking hasn't updated since the day it was mailed. I've checked several times today and nothing has changed since then. Is the mail a lot slower due to the Christmas rush?

I've noticed that with some of my packages- the postal people are not scanning the package until it arrives at its destination-  so it doesn't look like it has moved at all or even been accepted by the post-  and then suddenly there is a delivery scan.

I think lots of new people hired for the holiday mail might make some things less predictable...

I have to say its a lot slower right now, with all the things being bought and shipped it going to slow stuff down! I know that this is not the postal system but I bought some things threw UPS and they were pretty fast. But I did hear that your packaged have more then doubled in what they have to ship!

Yes. My last package arrived days after its scheduled delivery date.

Some of it's slow for me, others arrive on time. And sometimes the tracking number isn't updated til delivery like Galactica said

Yeah, I think it's a your-mileage-may-vary thing right now, depending on the PO. Most of my domestic stuff's been on time, with a few things even a day or so earlier than originally quoted. The only issue I've had so far is with something coming from Japan that never updated from when it left Tokyo on 12/1. I know others in the US who ordered the same item from the seller have gotten theirs already. Hoping it'll just be one of those things where it will just randomly show up as being delivered one day, hopefully in the (very) near future.

I've had the problem where the mail carriers don't actually scan the package and then I can't see where it is. That may be your problem. It might also depend on where you are trying to mail the package to -- when I mailed a package a week or so ago the mailman told me that there was a huge blizzard that might keep my package from arriving at its destination anytime soon (it actually ended up arriving in only a few days, though).

Yep. Had a package from cali going priority take about 8 days and it was only supposed to be 2.
Currently have another package coming from cali that was supposed to have been here on the 12th. I DO kno that the snow we have been getting here in the midwest has been affecting mail. That is another cause adding to it.

A couple weeks ago I sent something 2 Day Priority.

It took 6 days to get there!

I'd hate to see how long it would have taken had I sent it first class.

Yes, I have a package that has been held up in PA for two days. It has also changed expected delivery dates twice.

The tracking is hasn't updated all day but it still shows today as the expected delivery date. Maybe the date will change after Midnight?

I personally think it has to do with all the crappy weather we've been having across the planet...
