The ponies had never heard of Christmastown before. "It's a very small village far to the north," Twilight explained. "It's beyond the northern border of the Crystal Empire."

"We're nearly there! I think I can see our contacts, but...I've never seen anything like them before!"

"You must be Princess Twilight. Santa told us you were coming. I'm Rudolph, and this is my friend Clarice." Just as the ponies had never seen reindeer before, the reindeer had never seen ponies either. "It's very nice to meet you, Rudolph and Clarice. I'm Twilight Sparkle, this is my assistant Spike, and our friends Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Rainbow Dash."

"The task that we've been given by Santa and Princess Celestia is to decorate the biggest tree in Christmastown. It's the centerpiece of our whole Christmas celebration!"

Spike gave a mighty, fiery belch, and..."It's a present for Pinkie Pie, from Rarity!"

"Uh-oh...not done yet!" The next gift was a string of magical crystal lights from Princess Cadance and Shining Armor.

"And finally, a wreath...*burp* from the Apple family."

While the ponies were receiving their gifts from home, a team of elves delivered the decorations for the tree. Pinkie Pie dove right in. "Time for a DECORATING PARTY!!!"

"Fluttershy and I will take care of the top of the tree, since we have wings."

Rudolph giggled. "Around here, reindeer can fly too!"

"Mmmm...these ornaments look delicious!"

"Betcha can't hang five ornaments at once!"

The ponies quickly discovered that this "Christmas" was just like their Hearth's Warming. The history behind the holiday may have been different, but both were all about good fun and good friends. They shared songs and stories as they worked, and the ponies taught the reindeer their favorite Hearth's Warming carol.

Their mission was a great success, and soon it was time for the ponies to return home to Equestria. Rudolph hugged his new friend Twilight. "This is the best Christmas celebration ever, thanks to our new pony friends. After Christmas, we'll visit you in Ponyville!"

Pinkie Pie wasn't about to wait that long. She insisted on leaving Clarice with a gift, so she would always remember the fun they had together.

The ponies relived their favorite memories over and over again on the long trip home. Twilight was the one to say what everypony was thinking. "It's really too bad that Applejack and Rarity couldn't join us, but they were given a different important mission. I can't wait to hear all about it when they get back!"
