lets talk ceramics! G1 or other gens :)
« on: November 17, 2013, 06:35:31 AM »
^.^ so im curious. what are your favorite ceramic pieces and which ones do you guys think are the most difficult to come by?

i recently sold my sleeping applejack single and medley single for 75$ each to a foreign customer from my etsy shop. hated to see them go, but as i need the cash for much needed bills i cannot complain  :lookround:

i recently stumbled across a ceramic skyflier for a decent price and am curious as to how hard to find she is.  i personally have yet to see her before now other than here and there in internet photos over the years.  i also havent seen a baby moondancer single in person either.

my 2 favorite ceramics in my personal collection that are not for sale is the weddning prance duo and the dreams in the clouds duo with the weird cherries jubilee pegasus.

My favorite are the three I have... An individual (baby?) Moondancer, the sprawling baby, and the individual (baby?) Glory :)  Of course, when (if) I ever get others, they will be added to my 'favorites' list haha.  I think the Skyflier one is pretty, too!

I've sold my Buttons Porcelain figure on eBay not that long ago. She went for around $70 and was in excellent shape :) It was hard for me to let go of her as I grew very atachted to her, but I was parting with all my Buttons ponies to pay for my books for the Uni, so she had to go as well...

I won her and love her
I found my 1st porcelain Medley in August 2nd hand and fell in love with porcelains
My collection has grown fast since then
I had always wondered about these size and all and if I would like them
They are alot smaller in person then I ever imagined and that is what made me love and want them
I have alot of them and will get a group shot soon
My favorite is Medley for I found her and she was my first one.
I love the singles the most but the wedding prance is my fave duo set. It's so romantic.
I think the non US ones are hardest to come by.
I'm not going to pay $90 and up if they are US
If they are non US its fair game
I love your buttons and she is safely in my hutch next to my favorites
I'm getting a few new ones for Christmas
When I post my picture I will tell you what I learnt about who is rare etc.
First born is most common so don't pay alot for her

im actually pretty sure my two sold to a member here. the buyer was from sweden. and i cant put my finger on it why she looks so familiar in her profile pic on etsy!

Honestly the market os what someone will pay or not pay. there is never any set sort of rules out there.  only a code of ethics so to speak like not cheating anyone flat out.
i placed my porcelains up for sale only in case they sold (as im just trying to pay off massive vet bills incurred by my horse) little by little so if i sell an item then yay for me as its at a price im not going to be sad to see it go. and if it doesnt sell no big deal it stays with me. My items have been up for awhile and its different on etsy as there is no bidding involved. the buyer is free to do their own homework and decide if the item is worth it to them personally.
:)  i do provide very good services and quick shipping as well as my items are very accurately described and usually top notch condition.  my customer base is highly niche.

as for the foreign ones, i saw that buttons!  congrats to you both :) she is a beauty. <3

im hoping someday to be able to snag the castle in the sky set. its so cute!

I can't decide which porcelain is my favorite.  I have all of them so it's a bit tough to choose!

Maybe Majesty, or the big castle one.  I want to like Buttons but she's so hideous!

I have The Wishing Well... found it at Savers for $3! And my room mate's girlfriend found me First Born at a thrift shop as well.

I look at the ceramin/porcelain collectibles area every time I go to a thrift store... maybe one day I'll find more. <3

yep she did and I love her
I just wish Wiki was up to date with who was all made foreign
I want Majesty
I don't know who else was made foreign besides: Applejack(need) Majesty(need) sky flier and buttons
I think finding them in 2ndhand stores are extremely rare occurance
I have only found 1 in my 13+ years of collecting
I just know I want to find more but I know finding a Non US one won't happen hence the price goes up if I want it
Of all the US ones my faves are Medley who I found and then her mate who I had to have for her Firefly
Then sleepy Applejack
Then the wedding prance
Followed by baby moon dancer
Baby glory
