SUNSPARKLER merry go round G1 Prototype Restored!!!!

Ok everyone so this is kind of a long story...Bare with me. Back in the summer Nibbles took a chance on a strange lot that had an odd looking pony in it and she turned up to be real!!!

Sunsparkler (looks to be a hybrid of sunnybunch and sparkler - a sunnybunch in sparkler's pose) or as she was nicknamed "Lucky" was in dire need of some help as some child had written all over her face in blue and black ink.. Nibbles decided to sell her and let someone take a stab at restoring her and so I bought her as I thought I could help remove the ink, though I knew the permenant marker was going to be a challenge. I don't think Ill be able to fully remove it totally but I got it pretty close. What do you think?

Sidestory: Sadly my dog aka best friend in the whole world named Andre was diagnosed with cancer during this time. I rescued him when I was 14 years old as he had been badly abused.. We were just inseperable for almost half of my life... So i guess the pony sort of reminded me of him which is why I chose to try to help her.. While she was in the sun all those months of constant attentive care, I was also trying my darndest to help him with alternative treatments but nothing seemed to be working. Even sadder he passed away in his sleep on September 30th.. I haven't brought myself
to bother much more with ponies since.. as everything seems to trivial when I miss him so much..
But I thought since caring for her coincided with caring for him it would be fitting to finish restoring her as a little testimate to him..
Could be my way of just coping... *sigh*.....

So without further delay... I present Andre's Sunsparkler AKA Lucky - Quite the introduction for a pony lol * hope you don't mind I am using your photos for comparison Nibbles.

I am sorry about your best friend. *hugs for you* You did a good job restoring Sunsparkler though. She looks a lot better than her before pics.

I lost Mumford, the best friend a girl could have, a couple of years ago. He was my man for 13 amazing years, so i feel your pain. Everything reminds me of him
Sunsparkler looks absolutely fantastic! I can't believe the purple is all gone! Whoever discovered the magic of sunfading needs to be given the Nobel Prize

My heart goes out to you seashellinbubbles for your loss too.

I actually used a combination of a few things besides sunfading  including formula 911 to fully remove the blue and the black.
I got as much as I could with the black and it is  Very faint. The remaining light marks I fear are too deep for me to fully remove safely.

Thank you for all of your kind words.
Cupidstrikes, I brought him personally to the crematorium
And they did the plaster cast and frame for me.
You can request to have any beloved animal of yours that passes shipped to them.
They are called Heavenly Days and were an absolute blessing. Truly
Handled the whole process with kindness and love any animal deserves.
Most crematoriums for animals are just the opposite. No closure. No contact with them and certainly no plaster casts. I can't tell you how many details heavenly days Tended too. If you had any special requests. They had someone personally pray over my dog before cremation and also saved a lock of his hair for me and put that in the frame as well. I highly recommend !
