Ok everyone so this is kind of a long story...Bare with me. Back in the summer Nibbles took a chance on a strange lot that had an odd looking pony in it and she turned up to be real!!!

Sunsparkler (looks to be a hybrid of sunnybunch and sparkler - a sunnybunch in sparkler's pose) or as she was nicknamed "Lucky" was in dire need of some help as some child had written all over her face in blue and black ink.. Nibbles decided to sell her and let someone take a stab at restoring her and so I bought her as I thought I could help remove the ink, though I knew the permenant marker was going to be a challenge. I don't think Ill be able to fully remove it totally but I got it pretty close. What do you think?

Sidestory: Sadly my dog aka best friend in the whole world named Andre was diagnosed with cancer during this time. I rescued him when I was 14 years old as he had been badly abused.. We were just inseperable for almost half of my life... So i guess the pony sort of reminded me of him which is why I chose to try to help her.. While she was in the sun all those months of constant attentive care, I was also trying my darndest to help him with alternative treatments but nothing seemed to be working. Even sadder he passed away in his sleep on September 30th.. I haven't brought myself
to bother much more with ponies since.. as everything seems to trivial when I miss him so much..
But I thought since caring for her coincided with caring for him it would be fitting to finish restoring her as a little testimate to him..
Could be my way of just coping... *sigh*.....

So without further delay... I present Andre's Sunsparkler AKA Lucky - Quite the introduction for a pony lol * hope you don't mind I am using your photos for comparison Nibbles.

Wow, what a great job! That pony has had quite a history!

And I just want to say that I feel you regarding your dog. My Pepper died 2 years ago -- I had had him for 16 years and we were completely inseparable.  (Incidentally, he was also a poodle)

WOw- you did an amazing resoration job on that pony- I love seeing her the way she should be!  Seriously she is SUCh an odd pony- very very cool.  I'm sorry to hear about your dog and I guess just know that you will always miss him but it will get easier to deal with after time-  HUGS!

I'm really sorry to hear about your dog, its always sad to lose someone who's so important to you.

Thank you everyone for your kind words.. Yes he is in a better place and I do feel his spirit around from time to time so I guess I can't ask for much more..
I scrubbed her with the 911 formula today for like an hour.. I think this is as good as its going to get...

You have done a great job cleaning Lucky up I think sometimes a few little marks show that the pony was once loved by a child and played with and for me that's a nice thought

I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved dog it sounds like he really touched your heart. Time will heal your wounds and you'll remember the good times you had with him.

Amazing Pony Ember!  Wow!  I can't believe how much better she looks!  And I love your picture and memorial pieces for your little buddy!  I tear up just thinking about the day that I know will come and we lose our sweet dog, I hope you will be comforted by all the great times you had together!
